Peaceful rural neighborhood just outside of Elizabeth
In Ponderosa Park, winding country roads lead to sprawling properties with acres of land. The neighborhood is interspersed with trees and lends to the secluded and quiet rural setting. “It has a real convenient location with beautiful scenery, from the trees to the vast open space, but you also have Parker and Castle Rock a quick 20-minute drive away,” says Melissa Brugh, a real estate agent with eXp Realty, who has about 7 years of experience. Elizabeth is the closest town, about 6 miles southeast, and provides opportunities for shopping and dining.
Single-family properties with farms and fences
Most homes in Ponderosa Park sit on large lots that have additional buildings for a working farm or small business. Fencing surrounds the perimeter of these properties for privacy and keeping livestock secure. “When you live in a rural area, you’re going to get an eclectic home, and you get to do what you want with your land,” Brugh says. Ranch-style homes, raised ranches and bi-levels built in the 1970s and 1980s are found throughout the neighborhood. These houses span 1,700 to 3,300 square feet and cost $575,000 to $800,000. Contemporary multistory homes from the 1980s to 2000s are also common and go for similar prices.
Residential farmhouses are dotted throughout Ponderosa Park. Some are more traditional, with wrap-around porches and beams, while others have a Tudor-inspired design with a cottage core. Prices range between $600,000 and $1.2 million. In some areas of the neighborhood, modern Craftsman estates built in the 2000s are sprawled along lush green acreage. These houses span 4,500 to 6,500 square feet and go for $975,000 to $2.2 million, depending on property size.
