A countryside community in Grays Harbor County
In Malone, cows graze in farmlands next to the towering pine trees of the Capitol State Forest. The rural community of around 300 people benefits from its location: “The appeal is that it's centrally located between Aberdeen and Olympia. And there’s acreage for a good value,” says broker Kristi Christensen who works with Better Properties Grays Harbor and grew up in the area. The area’s countryside lots often include multiple acres, ideal for barns, stables and plenty of space surrounded by the natural beauty of Washington state. Bordering the Capitol State Forest, Malone gives outdoorsy residents easy access to hiking trails and campsites. The community is dependent on Elma, a small town 5 miles northwest, for its school system, grocery store and other necessities.
