Affordability near shops and restaurants in Englewood's Jason Park
Jason Park is a lower-priced and slow-growing area in central Englewood. Located in what some call south Denver's "path of progress," this mature neighborhood is near the growing South Broadway commercial corridor. "That's the next up-and-coming spot that hasn't really seen enough revitalization yet to warrant big price growth on the residential side," says Stuart Crowell, Realtor with Compass, who has been working in the area for about 7 years. Englewood is known for its convenience to Denver, healthcare jobs and tight-knit community.

Smaller homes for below the Denver median
The neighborhood has smaller brick ranch, bungalow, shotgun and Minimal Traditional-style homes from the early to mid-20th century. It's possible to find these homes in move-in-ready condition for below Denver's median price, according to Crowell. They typically range from around $500,000 to $650,000. Short-cut lawns, stone landscaping and mature spruce trees add curb appeal.

Slow growth on South Broadway
Jason Park is near Englewood's growing retail and restaurant scene. Thrift stores, specialty shops, restaurants and bars line South Broadway. "Both sides of South Broadway have seen a lot of development, a lot of turnover of retail and restaurants," Crowell says. "I don't think it's happening as fast as people want it to happen, but it's definitely happening." The LGBTQ- and women-owned Lady Justice Brewing Company serves craft beer and hosts community events such as trivia and karaoke. Breakfast Queen offers diner classics and Mexican-inspired breakfast options. King Soopers, Walmart Supercenter and Safeway also surround the Broadway district.

Community building at Neighborhood Nights and the Englewood Block Party
Englewood builds on its strong community spirit with a full calendar of events. "You have a ton of people who have lived there for 30, 40 years," Crowell says. Jason Park is one of the locations for Neighborhood Nights, which takes place at different town parks in the summer. Residents hang out with neighbors, play yard games and enjoy live music at their local park. South Broadway shuts down for the Englewood Block Party, where vendors, food trucks and music stages take over the street.
Convenient jumping off point to Denver
Crowell says convenience is one of Englewood's key assets. "I find Englewood is such a good jumping off point to get to Denver, to get to the Tech Center, even core neighborhoods like Cherry Creek," he says. "It's surprisingly convenient to get anywhere in Denver because there are so many main arteries — not always highways, but major streets." U.S. Route 85 and the D train, via the Regional Transportation District, both lead to Denver, about 9 miles north. Englewood has its own healthcare industry based around HCA HealthOne Swedish Medical Center and AdventHealth Porter Hospital.
