A golf-centric oasis
For those seeking a quiet, guard-gated lifestyle built around a golf course, not far outside the Las Vegas Strip, Rhodes Ranch may be a hole-in-one. Although all The Las Vegas Strip excitement is just 12 miles northeast, this private community with vibrant green lawns and tall palms feels somewhat like an oasis amid the surrounding desert terrain. A variety of home styles are set within a backdrop of canyon and mountain views, and residents can walk to a high-end community center or golf at a central course. “It’s an up-and-coming neighborhood, and the builder really maximized the homes in that community for their value,” says Jill Amsel, a local Realtor with Realty ONE Group, Inc., who has been selling in the area since 2013. “We’ve got a great location too, right near The Strip and Red Rock.”

Golfing, Rhodes Ranch Recreation Center and Cowabunga Canyon
Sidewalks and multiuse paths encourage walking, biking and connecting with neighbors. At the centerpiece Rhodes Ranch 18-hole public golf course, golfers of all skill levels are immersed in stunning scenery. “The golf course isn’t an included amenity if you live in Rhodes Ranch,” says Chad Duncan, first assistant golf professional at Rhodes Ranch Golf Club. “Anyone can come play here. It’s a public facility, so buying a home in Rhodes Ranch doesn’t mean automatic club privileges. But Rhodes Ranch does have its own really nice community center.” The Rhodes Ranch Recreation Center’s gym and indoor basketball courts are undergoing renovation in 2024, but all the outdoor facilities are accessible. The center’s pool and water park are open from May through September, and there are multiple courts for year-round pickleball and tennis, as well as a covered playground.
Across Durango Street on the community’s east side, area sports leagues play their tournament games at the James Regional Sports Complex on 16 lighted fields. It’s also home to the county’s first fully accessible playground, with ramps and a splash pad. A paved pathway encircles the park for strolls or runs. A mile northwest, locals can slide and splash at Cowabunga Canyon Waterpark, or enjoy more low-key recreation on the playground and grass fields in Wilbur and Theresa Faiss Park, right next to the water park.
