A family-friendly suburban community with nearby industrial job opportunities

Just 10 miles south of Downtown Cincinnati at the junction of Interstate 275 and 71, Erlanger is a suburban oasis for many who work in the industrial sector nearby, which includes warehouses for companies like Coca-Cola and Amazon. On their way to work at one of the warehouses, locals drop their children off at one of the well-respected schools within Erlanger-Elsmere Independent Schools. On the weekend, there’s no shortage of things to do, whether locals want to relax at one of the dynamic parks or grab a bite at one of the popular restaurants. Erlanger also has a section of events throughout the year that unite the community. “There’s a lot of things to do for families,” says Stacy Meece, a Realtor with KW Commercial. With this in mind, it’s no wonder some residents have chosen to live their entire lives in Erlanger. “There are senior citizen residents that have lived their whole lives here,” Mike Parker, a Realtor with Huff Realty, says.

From 1950s ranch-style homes to new construction new-traditional homes

Single-family homes are the most common type of housing in Erlanger, spanning the 1950s to new construction. Older, more established subdivisions are found just north and south of the highway junction. Homebuyers will discover ranch-style, Cape Cods and bungalow homes with well-mowed lawns and a cushion of mature bushes and trees. These homes have sold for between $80,000 and $300,000. At the suburb's southern end, homes and subdivisions are newer and sometimes not yet fully built. Here, prospective residents will find bi-level and new-traditional homes that have sold for as low as $220,000 and for as high as north of $1 million. “The market is really good in Erlanger,” Meece says. The homes in Erlanger that are close to the freeways are likely to hear the buzz of traffic. As for crime, the CAP Index gave Erlanger a Crime Score of 4 out of 10, on par with the national average.

10-mile commute to Downtown Cincinnati via Interstate 71

Erlanger residents looking to commute to Downtown Cincinnati can make the 10-mile trip via Interstate 71. The neighborhood borders the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, making it convenient for those looking to catch a flight. While the airport is close, the noise shouldn’t be a huge factor. “The way the planes fly, the noise doesn’t bother Erlanger,” Parker says. For medical attention, St. Elizabeth Edgewood Hospital is 4 miles away.

From coneys and chili at Dixie Chili to a coffee and hearty breakfast at The Hive

When it’s time to grab a meal, residents enjoy heading to Dixie Chili & Deli. “It’s an old-time chili parlor that has been there for 40-50 years,” Parker says. Dixie Chili is known for its large selection of coneys and chili and a few deli sandwich options. When it’s time to sip on some caffeine and get some work done, The Hive is the place to go. The Hive offers a coffee bar and a coworker hive for those looking to get work done and a dining room for those who want to grab a hearty breakfast with some friends. Authentic Mexican food can be found at El Ocho Locho, a popular spot for their El Ocho Burrito, which includes chorizo, steak and chicken. Crestview Hills Town Center, an outdoor shopping mall anchored by Dillard’s, is less than 2 miles away. Locals make their way to Kroger when it's time to check items off a grocery list.
