Wesselman Park has a little bit of everything in Evansville
Wesselman Park has a classic vibe about 6 miles east of Downtown Evansville. Its charming cottages rest on the edge of city parks, such as the Wesselman Woods, one of the oldest and most extensive urban forests in the United States. In addition to woodland recreation, this community has access to well-known restaurants, pubs and pizzerias. With a central location along state Route 66, Wesselman Park attracts all sorts of homebuyers. "To me, the biggest thing is affordable housing and convenience," says Nikki Davis, an Evansville local and Realtor at F.C. Tucker Emge. "These are smaller homes, which tend to be more affordable. It is a great area for first-time homebuyers and people downsizing."
Nearby downtown Evansville has Game Room Alley which is a communal space for families to play.
You can find a taste of Italy at Turoni's Pizza which has been an Evansville staple for years.

Flat layout with eclectic mid-20th-century architecture
The streets in Wesselman Park are flat, with mature trees and weathered sidewalks. Many houses have carports that lead to detached garages, and walkways connect to the front doorsteps. This community features eclectic architecture, including cottages, bungalows and ranch-style homes built between the 1940s and 1970s. Home prices range from $50,000 to $300,000. Noise-heavy thoroughfares may affect properties along Morgan Avenue and state Route 66. Due to the flat layout, areas in Wesselman Park may also be at risk of potential flooding from Pigeon Creek to the north. The neighborhood association meets every few months to discuss local improvements. “The neighborhood associations play a critical role in building community for these areas, and we have quite a few doing a fantastic job in Evansville,” Davis says.
