Lakeside mountain living within range of urban amenities
Nestled near the serene waters of Evergreen Lake, the Evergreen Heights and Estates neighborhood offers a unique blend of mountain beauty and urban access. Approximately 30 miles west of Denver, this area provides stunning views, abundant wildlife, and immediate access to outdoor activities. “It’s a really sought-after place, and it’s easy to see why,” says Kevin Freadhoff, Broker Associate with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services and longtime resident of the area. “It’s got a rural feel to it, but you don’t have to sacrifice being close to work or all the amenities in Denver.”
Outdoor recreation centered around Evergreen Lake
Residents enjoy immediate access to a wealth of outdoor pursuits. Evergreen Lake serves as a focal point of the community and offers fishing, paddleboarding and boating during warmer months, and ice skating in the winter. The Evergreen Lake Trail provides a path for walking and jogging around the water's edge. Nearby Alderfer-Three Sisters Park offers miles of hiking and mountain biking trails amid ponderosa pine and aspen forests, where wildlife such as deer, elk, and various bird species can be spotted. “We’re overly fortunate when it comes to parks in the area,” says Freadhoff. “I’d argue we have access to the best parks and state parks in all of Colorado, and that’s a huge part of why people move here also.” Those looking for a fun show on the weekends can head to the Evergreen Rodeo Association, a unique local attraction that draws visitors and rodeo professionals from across the country.

Get to the Mile High City in under an hour
While public transportation options are limited due to the nature of living in the mountains, nearby Highway 74 and Interstate 70 make commutes to Denver and other Front Range communities simple. Drivers can also utilize E470. The drive to downtown Denver typically takes about 40 minutes, depending on traffic and weather conditions. “We’re a bit of a bedroom community, in that most people living here are probably commuting to Denver for work,” says Freadhoff. “But that’s part of the appeal – getting to Denver quickly, but still being distanced from all the traffic and noise.” Residents should be prepared for mountain driving conditions, especially during winter when snow and ice affect roadways. The Denver International Airport is 55 miles from the neighborhood.
