A quiet community with private lots and wooded trails

With evergreen-lined streets winding through the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, Soda Creek is a secluded hillside community with private, wooded properties. Around 25 miles west of Denver, the neighborhood is just a few minutes from the shopping centers of Evergreen, with easy access to Interstate 70. “Soda Creek is very commutable to Denver,” says Nancy Silverman, a local real estate agent with LIV Sotheby’s International Realty. “You have large, private lots and quiet streets, but are still really close to the amenities of Bergen Parkway. The neighborhood also has its own system of equestrian-friendly trails.”

High-end homes with mountain views

High-end homes line the streets of Soda Creek, and most are 4,000 square feet or larger on lots of 5-acres or more. “There’s a five-acre minimum in the Soda Creek subdivision,” says Silverman. “It makes it an attractive area for people with horses and other livestock.” Many houses feature panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and meadows, with a variety of wooded and open lots. Architectural styles range from log cabins and mid-century-modern homes to craftsman-style builds and modern traditionals, and most were built between the 1980s and 2010s. Houses in the southeast side of the community with yards of 1 acre or less range from $1.3 million to $1.4 million, while expansive builds on multi-acre properties span from $1.8 million to $7 million. Prices in Soda Creek are significantly higher than the Jefferson County average. Additionally, houses in the neighborhood are not listed often, and tend to be off the market within three weeks.

Career and technical education at Evergreen High School

Bergen Meadow Primary School serves prekindergarten through second-grade students and earns a B grade from Niche, while the A-minus-rated Bergen Valley Intermediate School serves grades three through five. Evergreen Middle School also receives an A-minus and has a variety of elective courses to choose from, including Team Sports and World Languages and Cultures. A few miles south, Evergreen High School boasts an A grade and has career and technical education programs in production arts, health sciences, business and marketing and multimedia arts.

Berger Parkway businesses

Just southeast of Soda Creek, the Berger Parkway is lined with chains and local businesses. The Marketplace at Bergen Park is home to King Soopers, a gift shop and a hardware store. The Bagelry serves house-made bagels, breakfast sandwiches and coffee, while a few doors down, Evermore Wine Bar & Cafe offers small plates, wine, coffee and tea. The Woodcellar Bar & Grill serves pub fare and draft beer that can be enjoyed alongside live music or a game of pool. Natural Grocers is another nearby option for groceries. Near the intersection of Highway 40 and the Evergreen Parkway, the Evergreen Farmers Market is every Tuesday from late May through September. Walmart and Natural Grocers are also nearby options for essentials.

A variety of parks and trails near Soda Creek

There are dozens of outdoor recreation areas within a short drive of Soda Creek. “Evergreen is like a snow globe in that it has everything you could need without leaving town,” Silverman says. “We have our own lake, tons of parks, hiking trails and a public golf course. There are also a number of spots for fishing in the area.” Buchanan Park has baseball diamonds, a playground and a community garden, with a recreation center home to an indoor pool and a rock-climbing wall. Popular nearby hiking spots include the Beaver Brook Watershed Trail and the Bergen Peak Trail.

Commuting to Denver

Interstate 70 can take drivers around 25 miles east to Downtown Denver or roughly 45 miles west to Silverthorne. Colorado state Highway 74 spans roughly about 6 miles south to Evergreen’s town center.
