In Levittown, the first letter of the street names indicates the town’s neighborhoods; streets in Pinewood start with the letter P, all enveloped by Pinewood Drive. Though pines are not the only prevalent trees in the small, residential neighborhood, Pinewood does offer a particularly green thumbprint. Residents benefit from green spaces like the centrally located Pine Lake Park and the nearby Falls Township Community Park. In addition to recreational opportunities, Pinewood also provides locals with access to highly rated schools and modern-day conveniences all wrapped within a suburban backdrop in the heart of Levittown, Pennsylvania. “Pinewood is a great section of Levittown because of the great school and community pool,” says local Realtor Helen Irvine of Keller Williams Doylestown, who grew up in the area. “The pool is about $200 per season and is a hub for local events — they have swimming lessons, Friday night movie nights for kids, dance nights for preteens and it’s a great place for teenagers to get a summer job.”
Highly rated education in Pennsbury School District
Students are part of the Pennsbury School District, which earns an A from Niche. Kids may start at Walt Disney Elementary School, centrally located in Pinewood, before advancing to Pennsbury Middle School. Both receive A-minus grades from Niche. “Back in the day, most of the neighborhoods housed a school, so for Pinewood to still be centered around a school is a plus for residents,” Irvine says. With a 93 percent graduation rate, the A-rated Pennsbury High School is ranked the seventh-best public high school in Bucks County. Students can participate in the high school’s top-rated athletics department, which includes the Falcons basketball, baseball, soccer and bowling teams. The school also offers an Applied Engineering program to help prepare students for careers in technology, engineering and electronics.

Midcentury ranch-style homes on manicured lawns
Often regarded as America’s first suburb, Levittown was developed as residential sections in the early 1950s. Most of Pinewood was built in 1952, and though most homes date back to that year, many have been expanded or torn down and built anew. Set on manicured, sidewalk-framed lawns, the neighborhood’s ranch-style and Colonial Revival homes typically range in price from $307,000 to $590,000. Pinewood has a CAP Index Crime Score of 3 out of 10, which is lower than the national score of 4.

Recreation at Pine Lake Park
The central Pine Lake Park, adjacent to Walt Disney Elementary School, is the neighborhood’s local park. The tract of green space holds a playground and is home to the Pinewood pool, which is open seasonally. Residents can walk to the neighboring Lakeside neighborhood just south to access Levittown Lake. The body of water offers a scenic backdrop for walks, and the boat ramp at the southernmost edge allows for kayaking and canoeing. The Levittown Continental Little League practices at Mill Creek Sports Complex in Pinewood, which has multiple baseball fields. The neighborhood is also close to the Falls Township Community Park, one of Levittown’s most popular parks. The large recreational area features a dog run, athletic fields for both soccer and baseball, and more. Locals can fish from the pier on the 70-acre Falls Township Lake or simply take in the views from waterside walking paths. The park also hosts some of the community’s larger gatherings, like the Touch-A-Truck Festival, an event that allows younger residents to get up close to vehicles operated by first responders, construction workers and others.
