Davies is growing with the rest of Fargo

The Fargo metro's growth in technology, education, health care and agricultural-tech jobs has stoked home construction in Davies, one of Fargo's newest residential areas. Its quiet subdivisions feature modern homes, neighborhood parks within easy walking distance, and shopping and dining just minutes away. With quick access to South University Drive and Interstate 29, living here means enjoying a quiet suburban lifestyle without losing the convenience of a short, straightforward drive to Downtown Fargo and the rest of the city.

The neighborhood is considered family friendly

Davies has a classic suburban feeling and draws families for several reasons. “The camaraderie of the neighbors is No. 1, and No. 2 would be the school district," says Tina Kraft, a Realtor for over 20 years who works with eXp Realty. She describes the neighborhood as low-key, quiet and connected. “A lot of the [subdivisions] only have single-family homes. There aren’t as many apartments [as other areas of Fargo], so that brings together families and communities, and you can see kids playing in the streets.”

Housing options are expanding

The median build year in Davies is 2020, and homes are still being constructed. The largest subdivision is Eagle Pointe, built around a peaceful pond used for kayaking and fishing during the warmer months. Another standout area is Crofton Coves, known for its winding streets and scenic walking and biking paths that meander through the community. Even with different developers shaping each section, the neighborhood remains cohesive. Most of the homes are single-family, with plenty of ranch-style and two-story properties with big garages. Styles range from New Traditional to Craftsman to Modern Farmhouse. Prices start in the low $300,000s and reach the low $600,000s. For larger properties, some over 4,000 square feet, the range shifts upward, from the mid-$600,000s to the upper $800,000s.

Where families go for parks, trails and indoor entertainment

In Davies, you’re never far from a family-friendly green space. “Most [subdivisions] have an individual park with slides and swings,” Kraft says. Other similarities include recreational trails and basketball courts. "And [Fargo] Davies High School has an outdoor swimming pool with a splash pad and two slides that's open to the public.” A few miles away, you’ll find the Fargo Parks Sports Center, which has a ton of indoor fun, including a full-sized turf field and pickleball courts. A bit farther away are Kingpinz Social, Suite Shots and Slick City Action Park. Kingpinz has an arcade, laser tag and hyperbowling, while Suite Shots features a driving range and an indoor golf simulator. Slick City Action Park is known for its giant indoor dry slides.

Shopping centers and restaurants are a short drive from Davies

It’s an easy commute to grab a bite or run an errand from Davies. “Other than the necessities like food, drinks and gas, there aren’t many shops in the Davies area,” says Erik Wall, a Realtor and team owner of the Wall Street Realty Team, who has a decade of industry experience. “But most shops are maybe five to 10 minutes away.” A relatively quick drive along I-29 takes you to a Walmart Supercenter, Aldi, fast-casual chains like Starbucks, Chipotle and Plaza Azteca Mexican Restaurant.

Other areas in Fargo for shopping and dining within 10 miles:

  • 32nd Avenue and 25th Street, filled with local spots like Rocky's Burgers and Franks and Fries, and the Southpointe Mall
  • The West Acres Mall area, where you’ll find national chains, including Target
  • Downtown Fargo, known for its independent boutiques and a thriving restaurant scene

How close Davies is to I‑29, South University and key hubs

You can travel through Davies on a bike or on foot, but for longer distances, I-29 and South University Drive are the main ways to get around. The former leads to Downtown Fargo and major area employers, North Dakota State University and Sanford Medical Campus, all within 10 miles of the community's core. Microsoft is even closer, within 4 miles. Interstate 29 makes it simple to reach popular spots like West Acres Mall, roughly 7 miles away, and Hector International Airport, about 12 miles. It also connects Fargo to other regional cities, including Sioux Falls.
