From a bridge to the countryside to a major suburb
Burgeoning industries have been the driver of Fargo’s growth in the new millennium. “We have lots of opportunities in our community,” says Donna Heck, Concierge Strategist for the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo Chamber of Commerce. “Our area is on the cutting edge of cybersecurity, agtech, there are lots of employment opportunities here.” Stonebridge is a shining example of this–a neighborhood that grew as the city did, it became the link between Fargo's downtown area and the developing exurbs. In that time, it became the home of some of the area's largest employers including Butler Machinery and Essentia Health, with Microsoft’s office just to the south. As the city enveloped the community, retail and dining moved in alongside the quiet suburban tracts that lined the side streets. Today, while providing ease of access to downtown and top-rated schools Stonebridge also offers modern homes, opportunity and convenience.
Housing for all stages of life in Stonebridge
The Stonebridge community includes a variety of properties, from starter apartments to condos that cater to the 55-years-and-older crowd. Twin and single-family homes line quiet tree-lined streets that loop off the main avenues and are protected by borders of trees that help to absorb some of the local road noise. Built throughout the 1980s and 1990s, most homes are ramblers or bi-level designs wrapped in vinyl and sporting stone accents. Two-stall garages are standard, with some featuring a separate third stall, often used for storing snow removal equipment, watercraft and snow machines. Most lots are a quarter acre or less, and while young trees line the streets, some more mature oaks and elms provide shade to backyards for picnics. Twin homes generally cost $200,000 to $275,000, while single-family properties get between $250,000 and $550,000. For those looking to trade off maintenance for a fee, condos usually sell for $200,000 to $300,000.

It also provides a direct route to Hector International Airport 7 miles north – the high-speed roadway keeps this drive under 15 minutes. Four churches sit along 25th Street South for worship, bringing in Sunday traffic – Northview Church and Community Baptist Church on the west side, with Gethsemane Episcopal Cathedral and Hope Lutheran Church across the street.

A central neighborhood for jobs and care
“Hospitals are the number one driving force in our area; we’ve got two big hospital groups, Sanford and Essentia, and then education,” says Bruce Johnson, Broker and Owner of Re/Max Realty 1. Essentia Health, which provides 24-hour emergency care, is at the top end of the neighborhood. An air ambulance and ground traffic bring noise to the neighborhood; however, the convenience makes Stonebridge a popular community for medical professionals who need to be close to work. Sanford Medical Center Fargo, the state’s largest medical center, is only 3 miles west of the neighborhood. It’s not just healthcare that brings jobs to Stonebridge–Microsoft’s Great Plains office is less than a mile away and Butler Machinery is on the western edge.
