The arboretum features a variety of gardens, greenhouses and meadows, and has family- and pet-friendly trails. The area is home to over 130 different types of birds, and visitors can take scheduled birdwatching and wildflower walks.
Learning in Flagstaff Unified District
Students can attend schools in the Flagstaff Unified District, including DeMiguel Elementary, which receives a B-plus rating from Niche, and Mount Elden Middle, which earns a B-minus. A few miles east along South Milton Road, a major north-south thoroughfare, locals can pick up groceries at Bashas’, Walmart or Sprout’s Farmers Market and shop at big-box chains like Target and HomeGoods. Local dining options along South Milton include Taverna Modern Mediterranean for Greek dishes, wine and cocktails, and Delhi Palace Cuisine of India for traditional Indian dishes with chicken, lamb and seafood; there are also national chains like Olive Garden and In-N-Out Burger. More locally owned eateries and retailers can be found in Downtown Flagstaff, and a larger selection of big-name retailers are 10 miles east at Flagstaff Mall.
