Residential suburb named after the Flagstaff Medical Center

Hospital Hill is a residential community in the NoHo (north of hospital) area of Flagstaff, Arizona, known for its proximity to Flagstaff Medical Center, Buffalo Park and downtown. “It’s very popular for nurses and medical officials because it’s right across from the hospital,” says Jason Shafor, a Realtor with Exp Realty and a Flagstaff local. Flagstaff Medical Center is conveniently located just south of Hospital Hill, and residents are also within 3 miles of eclectic shops and restaurants in Downtown Flagstaff and Buffalo Park, known for its hiking trails and mountain views. Nearby houses of worship include Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. “You can walk or ride a bike downtown and enjoy the local restaurants; everything is right there,” Shafor says.

Single-family homes with close access to parks and downtown

In Hospital Hill, residential streets without sidewalks are interconnected in a grid layout dotted by towering pine trees; homes here are mostly midcentury minimal ranch-style with attached garages and drought-tolerant lawns, though there are also a few townhouses in central Hospital Hill. “You’re not going to find luxury homes; you’re going to find locals here who want to be close to downtown,” says Eileen Taggart, a Realtor with Re/Max Fine Properties and over 17 years of experience selling here. Single-family homes here range from $600,000 to $800,000; a three-bedroom ranch-style home with an 8,000-square-foot lot starts at $650,000, while a four-bedroom version with a 14,000-square-foot lot costs $800,000; a three-bedroom townhouse ranges from $600,000 to $700,000. “For the most part, you’re dealing with a higher price point here,” Shafor says.
