Urban Flagstaff suburb within walking distance of downtown
A mile north of downtown Flagstaff, North End is an established, urban community partially forested with ponderosa pines. The mid-20th-century homes here are set close together, and restaurants, local businesses, parks and public transportation are all within walking distance. “For those who want to be near all the action of town, this location can’t be beat,” says Cody Bauer, Realtor with the Foundation Group at Best Flagstaff Homes Realty, who lives in the area. Local houses of worship include the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, the Flagstaff Indian Bible Church and the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
North End sits at the base of the San Francisco Peaks, providing stunning views year-round.

Homes from the 1940s through the ‘60s
The single-family homes in North End are set along sidewalk-lined streets on lots of 3,000 to 7,000 square feet. In the neighborhood’s southern end, near downtown, two-bedroom bungalows and minimal traditional homes date to the 1940s; three-bedroom ranch-style homes from the ‘40s and ‘60s are found further north. Throughout the neighborhood, common features of these homes include low-pitched roofs with front-facing gables, covered front porches and wood siding; most homes have either a one-car garage or carport. Backyards are enclosed by chain-link or wooden fences, and front yards have just enough room for a few mature pine or oak trees. Layouts range from 1,500 to 2,300 square feet, and prices range from $700,000 to just over $1 million, depending on the home’s size and location within the neighborhood.
