Natural beauty minutes from Downtown Flagstaff
Located near the base of McMillan Mesa in Switzer Canyon, just two miles east of Downtown Flagstaff, Switzer Ridge-Mesa offers access to both the heart of the city and Northern Arizona's natural beauty. From the adjacent mesa, residents have unobstructed views of the San Francisco Peaks, plus access to local trails. “The location is stellar,” says area resident Christian Petris, an agent with SunHaven Real Estate. “You’re minutes from downtown, and getting onto the Flagstaff Urban Trail System is easy as pie from here." Proximity to major employers like Flagstaff Medical Center and Northern Arizona University is also a big draw. "It’s great for NAU students, and for families who want to be close to the downtown atmosphere and be able to walk to get a cup of coffee in the morning,” says area resident Ashley Householder, a Realtor with Realty ONE Group Mountain Desert.

In the center of Switzer Ridge-Mesa, McMillan Mesa Park has a playground and basketball court, and on the neighborhood’s north side, the Flagstaff Family YMCA has an indoor gymnasium, climbing wall and a variety of youth and adult classes. Less than 2 miles north, the 215-acre Buffalo Park sits on top of the mesa and offers over 2 miles of trails that connect to the 50-mile Flagstaff Urban Trail System, which runs throughout the city. Buffalo Park's high elevation allows for sweeping mountain views, and its lack of light pollution makes it ideal for stargazing. “Unless you’re right on the periphery of the mesa, you wouldn't even know you're right in the middle of a city of around 100,000 people,” says area resident Eric Jensen, a Realtor with Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty.
