North Florence’s residential subdivisions center around shops and restaurants in the Seven Points district. Most homes here were built around the 1950s and ‘60s. True to the times, they usually feature ranch-style architecture with attached carports and sprawling yards. Similar-style homes from the 1970s and ‘80s sit on wooded lots along Cypress Creek. The community’s oldest properties cluster around the University of North Alabama. An up-and-coming shopping and dining hub
The Seven Points District is an up-and-coming shopping and dining hub right in the heart of North Florence. Most of the retailers here sell antique, vintage or second-hand merchandise. A popular new bar opened on Wood Avenue in 2022. With a speakeasy vibe, North Wood Social serves traditional polish cuisine and hand-crafted cocktails. The closest grocery store is right up the road in the Seven Points Shopping Center. And Walmart Supercenter sits directly across Cox Creek Parkway.

Community sports complexes and nature trails at Wildwood Park
Wildwood Park is a recreational hub for residents all across Florence. It has 17 multi-use trails that wind through 200-acres of dense woodlands. Bordering Cypress Creek, the park provides several bankside fishing areas and a canoe ramp. Another small public boat launch is accessible at Cox Creek Bridge, on the community’s far north end. Cox Creek Park has a skatepark, a playground and tennis courts right down the road. The University of North Alabama’s softball team practices here throughout the year. And local youth play at the North Florence Soccer Complex, about 2 miles away.

Wood Avenue leads into Downtown Florence
Wood Avenue runs through the center of North Florence and links south to the downtown district. Its north end leads to Cox Creek Parkway, which connects all the city’s major highways. The North Alabama Medical Center is at the intersection of Cox Creek Parkway and State Route 157. From here, the Northwest Alabama Regional Airport is just 5 miles away.Home to the University of North Alabama
Florence City Schools earn an overall A on Niche. Kindergarten through sixth grade students can begin at Hibbett Elementary, which scores an A-minus. Florence Middle also gets an A-minus, while the Florence Freshman Center and Florence High receive a B-minus. High schoolers can sign-up to take dual enrollment classes at the University of North Alabama, at the neighborhood’s south end.
