Theodore Lester Elementary was named the 2022 Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence Beacon School, recognizing it for its academic excellence. Williams Middle School receives a B from Niche and is named after award-winning Dr. Willie Lee Williams, who practiced medicine in the area for over 50 years. Wilson High School earns a B-plus and was the first public school in Florence, opening in 1866.
