North of the park is Florence Country Club, which includes an 18-hole golf course that hosts different tournaments, as well as group days for members and their guests. The Country Club also has tennis courts, a pool, a fitness center and a formal dining area. Skyzone Trampoline Park offers several colorful trampolines and amusement obstacles indoors. A few miles down the road from the trampoline park is Greenwood Athletic Park, a complex with several sports fields, playgrounds and walking paths. "We have five fields, several tennis and pickleball courts and an all-inclusive playground. It's a great place for locals and tourists," says Nathan Dawsey, the Director of Florence County Parks and Recreation.

Bus stops and a short drive to downtown
Highland Park – like the majority of Florence – is primarily car-dependent. There are a couple of bus stops along 2nd Loop Road, at Marsh Avenue and in front of the Food Lion. Commuters have a 4-mile drive to Downtown Florence. Regency Hospital Florence is the nearest medical facility, about two and a half miles west on 2nd Loop Road. Florence Regional Airport sits about 6 miles away, just beyond downtown.
