Bridlewood
Stately brick homes with private pools
Bridlewood comprises 11 smaller neighborhoods boasting stately, traditional brick homes ranging from $500,000s to $1.6 million. Quiet streets give way to well-maintained sidewalks and front yards tastefully landscaped with local flora. Some properties showcase French Provincial and modern farmhouse details with stone facades and steeply pitched roofs to bright white exteriors with black accented windows. Two-to-three-car garages and roomy backyards, large enough for private pools, are the norm. From there, minor differences separate the neighborhoods, from Steeplechase’s picturesque golf course views to The Reserve’s gated entrances and exits to Bridlewood Farm’s large estates with proximity to the equestrian center. Coventry is Bridlewood’s largest neighborhood and Carpentier’s personal favorite. “The homes aren’t so on top of each other compared to the other areas; it’s more spread out, and the yards are bigger, which is getting harder to find these days,” Carpentier says.A-rated schools in Bridlewood
The Lewisville Independent School District serves the Bridlewood community, scoring outstanding ratings on Niche. “Flower Mound is known for its good schools, which is a major attraction for families,” says Levi Lascsak, Realtor with Exp Realty, who has four years of experience in the industry. Neighborhood children attending public schools may start at Bridlewood Elementary or Flower Mound Elementary, both of which score an A. Students then move on to A-rated Downing Middle and A-plus-rated Marcus High, known for its competitive sports teams. Parents can also send their children to the Montessori Country Day School for preschool and elementary school.Afternoons at the stables or the golf course
The neighborhood’s tranquil nature makes it easy for residents of all ages to get outside. Bluegrass Pocket Park features a playground with slides, swings and a paved walking path. The equipment sits underneath canopies of tall, shady trees — vital for keeping things cool during summer. For golf enthusiasts, one of the biggest draws to the neighborhood is access to the 25 acre Bridlewood Golf Club, located off Windsor Drive. The neighborhood is also home to the Bridlewood Equestrian Center, where residents can board their horses and utilize the covered riding area. Bridlewood’s Amenity Center offers an indoor fitness and sports facilities like tennis and basketball courts. Behind the center, locals can take a dip in the pool or head to Windsor Pool at the golf course’s clubhouse.Clubs and activities at the Amenity Center
Homeowners in Bridlewood are automatically enrolled in the homeowners association and, as such, have a wealth of community events to participate in. Activities range from book clubs to garden clubs and Bunco groups. There is also a mothers’ group, which connects Bridlewood mothers via email to get to know each other and to share tips and recommendations. Other neighborhood events include activities like the End of School pool party, where residents can sit back and enjoy the start of summer.Trips to The Shops at Highland Village
Bridlewood Golf Club is also home to the Bridlewood Bar and Grill, which is open to club members and non-members. Venture outside to find many shopping and dining options along Village Parkway. Locals can enjoy brunch at Berries & Batter Cafe or head to Hillside Fine Grill for aged wine paired with a mouthwatering steak. Shoal Creek Tavern is another favorite, known for its upscale atmosphere and refined menu. This corridor is also where locals can find major retailers like T.J. Maxx & HomeGoods, Target and PetSmart. The Shops at Highland Village is home to upscale shops and Whole Foods Market for organic produce, while others can head to Tom Thumb along Cross Timbers Road for everyday necessities.Commutes around Bridlewood
Part of Bridlewood’s tranquility is partly attributed to its distance from major highways. Regional commuters have access to Interstate 35E less than 7 miles to the east, which eventually connects to State Highway 121. Those that need to travel even further have less than a 15 mile drive to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Other essential establishments are nearby, like Medical City Lewisville, about 6 miles away, and houses of worship like RockPointe Church Central Campus and St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church.
