Located north of Lake Grapevine and in the heart of Flower Mound, Wichita Chase is a suburban neighborhood that offers convenience and amenities. “Wichita Chase is a really pretty neighborhood,” says Tim Vibral, a Realtor with Ebby Halliday Realtors and a neighborhood resident. “Homes don’t stay on the market long here; it’s a really desirable neighborhood.” Homes are brick new-traditional and come with matching mailboxes that add character to the neighborhood’s concrete streets. Residents here send their children to the Lewisville Independent School District, highlighted by Flower Mound High School and its athletics program, which has won multiple state championships in various sports. When it’s time to get outside, locals enjoy the proximity to Lake Grapevine, which has access from both Twin Coves Park and Rockledge Park.

As homebuyers look around Wichita Chase, they’ll see new traditional brick homes with matching brick mailboxes. These homes have sold for between $800,000 and $1.1. million. They sit on nearly identical-sized lots as their neighbors, and many of the concrete, sidewalk-lined streets end in cul-de-sacs. “Wichita Chase lots that are a third of an acre up to a half-acre,” Jan Dunson, a Realtor with RE/MAX DFW Associates says. “It’s for people who love the trees but don’t want to have to maintain a 1-acre lot.” Next door in River Oaks, lot sizes are traditionally an acre or more. Residents in Wichita Chase also pay into an HOA.
Excellent grades for the Lewisville Independent School District
Residents in Wichita Chase send their children to the Lewisville Independent School District, which earns an A grade from Niche. Starting in Pre-K, children attend Liberty Elementary School before moving on to McKamy Middle School for sixth through eighth grade. Both schools earn an A mark from Niche. In ninth grade, students move on to Flower Mound High School, which receives a perfect A-plus grade from Niche. Flower Mound High is known for its excelling athletics program, which has won multiple state championships in boys' and girls' sports. As for private school options, Coram Deo Academy of Flower Mound is next door in the River Oaks neighborhood, serves Pre-K through 12th grade, and earns an A from Niche.
Lake Grapevine access from Twin Coves Park and Rockledge Park
When residents want to get outside and get in touch with nature, there’s no shortage of options. Post Oak Park, which is in the neighborhood, has a playground perfect for a kid's playdate and a trail for friends looking to catch up. For Lake Grapevine access, residents can head to Twin Coves Park, which has a boat launch, cabins and RV slips for campers. Athletes enjoy getting a volleyball match or playing against friends on the disc golf course. Bikers can utilize the Northshore Trail from Rockledge Park, which runs to Twin Coves Park. Rockledge Park also has a pavilion that overlooks the lake and kayak rentals for those who want to get out on the water.

“There are some fantastic restaurants in Lakeside,” Dunson says. The Tavern at Lakeside is the town’s go-to bar to watch a sporting event. The Tavern serves American favorites like wings and burgers and has a wide selection of beer, wine and cocktails. Mio Nonno Trattoria offers classic Italian dishes like shrimp risotto or chicken parmigiana in an inviting interior with exposed wood beams. After dinner, locals stop by Epic Gelato & Craft Coffee for gelato in a house waffle cone. When it's time to fill the pantry, residents head to either Kroger or Walmart Neighborhood Market nearby.
12 miles from the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport
Those looking to commute into Dallas or Fort Worth can do so from Wichita Chase in less than an hour. The neighborhood is 29 miles from Downtown Dallas and 34 miles from Downtown Fort Worth. Getting out of town is convenient, with Dallas Fort Worth International Airport just 12 miles away. Medical attention can be found at Medical City Lewisville, 8 miles east of Wichita Chase.
Town of Flower Mound’s Independence Fest with fireworks
Wichita Chase has no neighborhood events, but residents enjoy participating in the ones that the Town of Flower Mound puts on. On July 4th, the town has a Children’s Parade in the morning, followed by their Independence Fest in the evening, which is capped off with a fireworks show. On Fridays during the summer, the town has a Concerts in the Park series at Heritage Park, where live music acts put on a show for a couple of hours.
Wide selection of golf courses
Those who want to play golf with family or friends have many options nearby. Tour 18 is a public course designed after some of the most renowned courses in professional golf. Cowboys Golf Club is a public course NFL-themed after the Dallas Cowboys. Other nearby public courses include Bridlewood Golf Club and Grapevine Golf Course. Those looking for more of a country club can look into joining the Trophy Club, the Vaquero Club or Lantana Golf Club.
