In ninth grade, students move on to Flower Mound High School, which receives an A-plus grade from Niche. Flower Mound High is known for its impressive athletics program, which has won multiple state championships in girls cross country, baseball and girls soccer. As for private schools, Coram Deo Academy of Flower Mound is just east of the neighborhood boundaries, serves Pre-K through 12th grade and earns an A grade from Niche.

Post Oak Park has a unique playscape for children to burn off some energy, while a trail at the park offers a place to get steps in. Twin Coves Park has 19 furnished cabins and 22 RV slips, providing campers a place to spend the weekend. Those with boats can also launch them onto Lake Grapevine from the Twin Coves boat launch. When not spending time on the lake, some enjoy hiking or biking on one of the trails there or getting a round of disc golf in at the course. “The River Walk is great,” Beca says. “There are several restaurants there along the water canal.” Underdogs at The River Walk has a dog-friendly patio and serves up comfort food like burgers. On the inside, they have games for all. After a burger, locals can grab a handcrafted dessert from Cake4One, which serves small-batch gourmet cakes. “Lakeside is another booming area with a bunch of shopping, music and restaurants,” Beca says. “The Tavern at Lakeside is the neighborhood bar. People love to sit outside and watch sports there. It’s super dog-friendly as well.” The Tavern at Lakeside serves a wide variety of American favorites, from wings and burgers to ribs and steak. It also has an extensive beer and wine menu. For those looking to cook a meal up at home or cross items of their grocery list, Kroger is nearby.
Less than 35 miles from Dallas and Fort Worth
Commuters can get to either Fort Worth or Dallas in less than an hour. Downtown Dallas is a 29-mile drive from Wichita Creek Estates, while Downtown Fort Worth is only 33 miles away. There is no public transportation offered in the neighborhood, so residents rely on their own vehicles to get around. Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is just 13 miles from Wichita Creek Estates, convenient for those who need to catch a flight. For medical attention, locals head to Medical City Lewisville, an 8-mile drive east.
From Concerts in the Park to Independence Fest
While Wichita Creek Estates doesn’t put on neighborhood events, The Town of Flower Mound does throughout the year. Every Friday during the summer, the town has Concerts in the Park, which is free for admission and includes live music acts. Come July 4th, they have an Independence Fest, which starts with a Children’s Parade in the morning, which leads to free food and kid’s activities and entertainment at Leonard & Helen Johns Community Park. In the evening, the town has a car show, live music and food vendors before the night is capped off by a fireworks show after the sun goes down.
Golfer’s paradise
Golfers in the neighborhood should have no problem finding a course to play a round at. Tour 18 is a public course nearby that was designed to have some of professional golf’s most renowned holes. Fans of the PGA Tour will enjoy playing a round here. Bridlewood Golf Club is also nearby and is a public, 18-hole course that also has a Pizza & Grill and a club membership for golfers looking for a discount round to round. Other public courses include Cowboys Golf Club and Grapevine Golf Course. Country clubs nearby that are for members only include the Trophy Club, Vaquero Club and Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club.
