The neighborhood is also in proximity to highways, schools and city parks, making it an accessible and commuter-friendly community. “Dorsey Riverbend is just north of Riverside Park and sits in a buffer zone that is in between neighborhoods,” says Michael Duris, Realtor at Duris Real Estate, Inc., serving the East Fort Lauderdale area with 17 years of experience. “The location is very central and convenient, and it’s very urban.”

More affordable housing in Fort Lauderdale

“Home values here are significantly less than in neighboring areas,” Duris says. Often tucked by mature trees, 1,000-square-foot National, ranch-style and Cape Cod homes frame the landscape and are priced from $200,000 to $400,000. The yard sizes tend to be small, which is a common characteristic of city plots. Townhouses tend to be around 1,500 square feet and are often listed between $350,000 and $450,000.
