Suburban Neighborhood in Fort Myers, Florida
Lee County 33912
Imagine life in Florida. Red tile roofs and palm trees welcome you home as you drive down the neighborhood streets. You can walk out your front door and be playing golf or tennis in just minutes. Inviting pools offer you a place to cool off on a hot summer day. And fine restaurants with expansive views of the golf course await you at the end of the day. That’s what you get when you move into Cross Creek.
“Pickleball, bocce ball, restaurant, bar. The estates have a fitness center. Racquetball,” says Dave Russ, a local realtor with John R. Wood Properties. “Lakes and fountains. It’s the Florida lifestyle.”
Russ is an expert when it comes to homes in Cross Creek, and he says you'll get great value when it comes to the cost of homes, especially the square footage of the homes compared to the rest of the market. Plus, he notes that the cost to be a golf member at Cross Creek Country Club is included in your association fees. Another bonus? Those association fees are low compared to those in many surrounding communities.
As you enter the neighborhood on Cross Creek Boulevard, you’ll be greeted by rows of palm trees on either side of the road. Homebuyers can choose from a few different styles in Cross Creek. “There’s about 600 single-family homes,” Russ says. “There are approximately 100 villas with a single-car garage and the rest are condos.” Many of the residences feature typical Spanish-style accents, including red-tile roofs, stucco siding and arches incorporated into the design.
All residents in the neighborhood have access to the Cross Creek Country Club. Play a round of golf on the highly rated executive course, perfect for all skill levels. The country club offers three tennis courts and two bocce courts for residents, as well as a swimming pool. Several of the 18 condominium associations within the neighborhood have their own pools for residents, and the Cross Creek Estates Association has another pool along with four more tennis courts.
Nature lovers can check out Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve, a 3,500-acre preserve of wetland ecosystem with a boardwalk trail and interpretive center. The preserve is home to several types of animals, including alligators, otters, turtles, wading birds and more.
Southern Fresh Farm is a local farm that sells produce right at their market on Penzance Boulevard. Crazy Dingo Brewing Company next door has become a popular spot in recent years for their house-brewed beer, plus food trucks and live music on the weekends. Fancy’s Southern Café serves up southern comfort food classics such as shrimp and grits, country fried steak and their famous chicken and waffles. If you’d rather cook for yourself, there is a Publix Super Market on Fiddlesticks Boulevard just south of the neighborhood.
Cross Creek’s central location makes it a great jumping off point to explore the rest of the Fort Myers area.
“We have world-renowned beaches,” says Russ. “The downtown is 15 minutes away. Beaches are 20 minutes away.”
And if you plan on being a seasonal resident of Cross Creek, Russ says it’s a great neighborhood that's just a 15-minute drive to Southwest Florida International Airport.
