A small golfing community in southwest Florida
The Fort Myers area has plenty of golf communities, but few will make residents feel at home the way Legends does. “The area has developed over the years into one of the nicest communities,” says Hal Morgan, a Realtor with the Genesis Realty Team who has been selling homes in the area for over a decade. “We’ve done a lot of upgrades, and we have a championship golf course.” While golf is the main draw to the community for most residents, it’s possible to still feel involved even if they’re not golfers. The vast majority of the community — nearly 1,300 homes — have golf memberships, but many of them are social memberships, which still offer residents access to all the dining, pools and court sports the neighborhood has to offer.
Red tile roofs are popular in the Legends neighborhood.

Tee up or play tennis at Legends Golf Course
Golf lovers couldn’t pick a more perfect area to call home. Legends’ course is an 18-hole course with picturesque views of the Southwest Florida landscape. It’s a challenging course, but one that is enjoyable for players of all skill levels. Another nice aspect of the course that sets this neighborhood apart is the carts. “Those that do have a golf membership pay no cart fees or trail fees for their carts, but yet they do furnish the carts with GPS and everything,” says Morgan. He adds that the course brings in new golf carts every few years for residents to enjoy. For non-golfers, there are plenty of other activities at Legends like tennis and pickleball.

Living on palm-lined streets
Residents will find condos ranging from $300,000 to $450,000 and Spanish Revival homes with red tile roofs and built-in garages, ranging from $700,000 to $900,000. Houses are surrounded by plenty of palm trees adding a touch of nature and a tropical feeling to the neighborhood. According to Morgan, homebuyers have to move quickly these days. “Right now there’s a high demand. Low inventory, high demand,” says Morgan.
The Legends neighborhood offers single family homes, attached homes, and condos.

Southern comfort and Sunday brunch
The community lacks an abundance of dining options. “We basically have four places to dine,” Morgan says. “ Diners enjoy comforting southern cuisine like sweet potato soufflés and chicken and waffles at Fancy's Southern Café. The Main Dining Room is located in the Legends Golf and Country Club and features events like Italian Night, Friday Night Buffet and Sunday Breakfast Brunch. Everyday groceries are found at the Publix Super Market on Fiddlesticks Boulevard.

The LeeTran transportation services offer commuters 22 bus and trolley lines throughout Fort Myers and the nearby Cape Coral area, which help them reach work daily.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data.
