Palm trees overlooking residential homes
The Omni neighborhood and the surrounding area are made up of several smaller communities, most private and gated. Many of the condos, townhouses and single-family homes offer built-in garages, while the home styles are mostly Spanish revival constructions with stucco siding and red tile roofs. Coastal colors line the streets, with orange and pink exteriors creating a vibrant landscape. Prices typically range from between $400,000 and $600,000. “The neighborhood is also in a flood zone,” Shaw says. “Homebuyers always keep that in mind when looking at homes in the area. HOA fees are between around $200 to $350 a month, which is in line with similar communities in the Fort Myers area.”

School districts around Omni
For education in the Omni neighborhood, the Lee County Public Schools district serves students and they can begin at Ray V. Pottorf Elementary School. Hosting pre-kindergarten enrollment all the way to grade five, it receives a B-minus with Niche. Paul Laurence Dunbar Middle School, located right next to Pottorf Elementary, receives a B, while Dunbar High School is just under 15 minutes away from its precursors and also rates at a B with Niche. Dunbar High is ranked highly in its accommodations for student-athletes in the state and is considered a magnet school.

At the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve, which spans than 3,000 acres, people can trek along boardwalks that wind through the wetlands. Immersing its visitors in nature, from the flora to the fauna, the Slough also has a center in which exhibits can be found. The Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium is another popular draw, its 105-acre preserve perfect for nature lovers. For more than 50 years, it’s been a spot to explore southwestern Florida’s most iconic flora and fauna, replete with exhibits and educational programs. Rescue animals, bird habitats and walking trails can be found there, as well as the planetarium’s showcase of the space beyond Earth. Other amenities within the Omni area include pools, gyms and courts for tennis and pickleball, most within various gated communities, while the Eastwood Golf Club’s links are ideal for those taking to the green. If a driving range is more a golfer’s speed, Topgolf is also located nearby.

Proximity to local restaurants and chains
Residents of Omni can find some local restaurants within its boundaries. Stops include Kumo Japanese Steak House & Sushi, where patrons can have their meals prepared right in front of them, and Love Boat Homemade Ice Cream with its over half-century of soft-service. Grab breakfast at Keke's Breakfast Cafe, located along with Kumo and Love Boat in the Shops at Village Walk. Chains in the vicinity include Texas Roadhouse, near the heart of Omni's geographic topography. Village Walk also offers a Publix and there's also a nearby Walmart Supercenter for general grocery necessities.

Multiple areas for retail line 6 Mile Cypress Parkway, which features the Colonial Square shopping mall and Cypress Woods Shopping Center located directly across the road from one another. The former, on the east side of the parkway, has a Hobby Lobby, Kohl's, Ollie's and PetSmart. Across the street, residents will find a T.J. Maxx, Bealls outlet and GameStop. Circle K and Lowe's are among some of the other larger establishments in the Omni area. Nearby, local shopping mall The Forum is just to the northeast and offers everyday essentials at Target, do-it-yourself products at the Home Depot and chains like Buffalo Wild Wings. Bounded by a major thoroughfare
With Interstate 75 stretching along the eastern edge, residents of Omni are never far from getting anywhere they need to go. Running from close to the southeastern end of the state all the way up to the Georgia state line. Beyond there, it reaches all the way up to the Canadian border, so those looking to hit the highway for a road trip can run through six states on the way north. I-75 is accessible via Colonial Boulevard, which has an interchange with the interstate at the northeastern corner of Omni.
Omni is tucked in between i75 and Six Mile Cypress Slough.
