Country living close to the city
Situated halfway between Fort Wayne and New Haven is Adams Township, an hourglass-shaped neighborhood that offers residents easy access to city amenities, while still maintaining the peace and quiet associated with a more rural setting. With Highway 930 running across the northern boundary of the neighborhood, Interstate 469 is easy for residents to access. At the same time, those who want to embrace a more agrarian ethos will find the southern section of the neighborhood to be full of wide-open space and homes separated by up to a mile. The area’s location does make it entirely car-dependent, and there are no rapid transit stops nearby. And potential buyers should be aware, too, that while sidewalks are plentiful in certain areas, they are nonexistent in others. “It’s hard to beat the location," says Realtor Ahtway Freeda, who has been representing sales in Adams Township for over a decade. “You’re close to the city and can get there easily, but it’s still like living in the country in some places.”

From modest ranch-style homes to new construction
The size of the area means that there is a wide variety of housing styles from which to choose; depending on the specific area of Adams Township, houses can be modest ranch-styles built in the 1950s or two- and three-story moderns built within the last year. As a whole, the median price of real estate in Adams Township is $185,000, and buyers should expect to pay an average of $106 per square foot. A three-bedroom/two-bathroom ranch-style home can sell for around $119,000, and a four-bedroom/three-bathroom two-story new construction home can list for $320,000. “Many of the houses in the area are being replaced by new construction, and the area is growing in popularity. So prices will most likely be going up in the future,” says Freeda.
