Although Anthony Wayne is in the city, it sits just outside the city's school district, so the neighborhood is served by East Allen County Schools instead, which Niche has ranked the third-best school district in the Fort Wayne area. Students can start school at Southwick Elementary, rated with a B-plus on Niche. After second grade, they can move on to attend Prince Chapman Academy, rated with a C-plus on Niche, before going to Paul Harding Junior High, also rated with a C-plus on Niche, and graduating from New Haven High, rated with a B-plus on Niche. Alternatively, students can apply to the magnet high school East Allen University, which sits just 2 miles outside the neighborhood. Niche has this school rated with an A and ranked as the No. 1 best public high school in the Fort Wayne area. East Allen University features a partnership with Vincennes University that allows students to graduate from high with their diploma and an associate's degree.

Essentials on South Anthony Boulevard

Residents living in Anthony Wayne don't have to go far for everyday essentials. Convenient retailers and strip malls are less than a mile away, bordering South Anthony Boulevard. McKinnie Commons

Downtown Fort Wayne is a short drive from Anthony Wayne. Residents simply hop on East Pettit Avenue, turn onto Route 27 and are in the heart of the city in less than 5 miles — roughly a 10-minute ride if traffic is good. The neighborhood also has great proximity to public transportation. In early 2023, this became even more true with the construction of McKinnie Commons. This project turned a regularly frequented bus stop into a small green space.

McMillen Park

While there are no parks in Anthony Wayne proper, aside from the McKinnie Commons pocket green space, recreational facilities are just a stone's throw away at McMillen Park and McMillen Park Community Center. Folks of all ages can often be found at this athletic hub playing doubles on the tennis courts or H-O-R-S-E on the basketball courts. Sitting just over a mile due north of the neighborhood, this recreational center's indoor facilities, such as its gymnasium and its outdoor amenities, including a pool with a waterslide, are easily within reach of Anthony Wayne residents.
