Briargate is a northeast Fort Wayne suburb with classic grassy lawns and tree-lined streets. The neighborhood joins a widespread collection of similar developments a mile north of the Maumee River, where homes are uniformly spaced in typical suburban fashion. "It's a pretty, small neighborhood that stays very quiet," says broker and longtime resident Jane Yoder of RE/MAX Results. Less than 10 miles outside the city center, homeowners enjoy suburban seclusion while keeping Fort Wayne's shops and restaurants just a mile away.
Sidewalks, tidy lawns and single-family homes
Briargate’s streets and sidewalks are well-kept. Private driveways are common, each with enough space for at least two cars. Simple split-level and ranch-style houses with attached garages were built in the late 1980s and early 1990s on tenth-acre lots, though some newer homes were built in the same style. Prices range between $180,000 and $280,000.
