Well-preserved homes and National Register status
The half-acre lots here are often twice the size of those in surrounding neighborhoods. Homes were built in the 1910s and 1920s and are nicely preserved. Colonial Revival is the most common style, but Tudor Revival and French Provincial are also represented. “They’re just beautiful homes, and you get to have a lot of history,” says local Realtor Andrew Morken of Morken Real Estate Services, Inc., who has been selling in the area for more than two years. “The homes are all different because they were all completed by different builders,” adds Nancey Weaver, a Realtor with Agency & Co. Real Estate, who was born and raised in Fort Wayne. “A lot of them have been remodeled. They’re such beautiful, established homes that have been well-maintained.” Prices often range from the mid-$400,000s to the high $600,000s, but homes rarely come on the market. “And when they do, it’s a lot of word of mouth,” Weaver adds.
