This school basically neglects kids with autism/ neurodivergent kids. No student dignity. a lot of the kids with autism either got bullied or didn't have somebody with them when they should have been.( ex. neurodivergent student went to bathroom everyday with bathroom stall wide open and the other students at the school had to be the ones to help her/ advocate for her.) (ex. teen with autism followed a student everyday after lunch and would yell at him and many other students jump in almost everyday and yell at the teen and call her names. This happened everyday and staff were never there to help escort her or redirect her.) Also toilets get clogged and filled with poop and they leave it for days and lock the one stall and leave the rest of the rank smelling bathroom open. On top of that they close almost all of the bathrooms and sometimes you have to go from the 3rd floor to the opposite side of the commons just to relieve yourself. Also a LOT of teachers with power struggles

The main issue I see within North Side High School is the often hostile environment created by the students. Bullying is quite common, especially for LGBT students. Teachers and school therapists are very supportive and are willing to help with the mental effects of bulling.

Northside was A great place where you can be friends with anybody and it's a place where diversity plays a huge role in the school. You can make connections with teachers and other students easily. I still talk to people from Northside, even though I graduated.

Enrolling my child at NSHS has been one of the best decisions I've made for their education. From the moment we stepped onto the campus, we were greeted warmly by the staff who exemplify professionalism and dedication. The facilities are modern and well-maintained, providing a safe and inspiring env...

NSHS has, and is, making great progress! Beside the hard working, dedicated staff, NS is a great cultural experience where anyone willing can earn a top rate education. GreatSchools rating does not take into account the percentages of English language learners, over 10%, and the number of special ed...

North Side is an urban school, yes, but that doesn't make it bad. NS has a dynamic principal who is REALLY involved and present in the halls of the school---the teachers strive for success, and we have a few teachers who have gone over and above their duty to ensure that our son make the grade. The...

Two daughters have graduated from North Side HS and we had no complaints. It is a public school, and located in an urban area, but nothing we experienced suggests this school should be rated as poorly as GreatSchools indicates. It seems to me GreatSchools does nothing to take into account excellence...
