The market in southern Fort Wayne is sparse, but it is also competitive. "I'm gonna say houses stay on the market for probably ten days or less," says Randy Harvey, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker. He's been selling homes in the area since 1980. Two- to four-bedroom homes sit on modest uniformed lots along sidewalk-lined streets. They can sell for between $120,000 and $165,000.

Fort Wayne is undergoing some revitalization and is quickly becoming a popular destination for residents in nearby neighborhoods. "We've seen incredible revitalization of the city. Ten years ago, you didn't see people walking around, but now families are coming downtown. They've cleaned up the riverfront, and it's had positive impacts everywhere," says Shawn Browning, a Realtor with ERA Crossroads. She lives in Northeast Fort Wayne. Fort Wayne's robust events schedule is a major draw to the city. One popular event is the Night of Lights. This event is held downtown on the night before Thanksgiving annually. Thunder Bowl #1 is another popular gathering space. This locally owned bowling alley is just outside of town. It has an event space and hosts regular tournaments.
