With easy access to major highways and a convenient location near popular attractions, Brentwood-Oak Hills is an ideal home base for anyone who wants to explore all the Metroplex has to offer. “It’s close to Interstate 30 and 820, so whether you work in Fort Worth or Dallas, it’s easy to get to both,” says local Realtor Carrie Daniels with Century 21 Alliance Properties. “It’s easy to get to Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor and all the sports events in Arlington.” This residential neighborhood on Fort Worth’s east side offers a quiet lifestyle at home with the opportunity to enjoy popular excitement every weekend.
Houses in Brentwood-Oak Hills are primarily midcentury ranch-style homes, many of which have been remodeled or renovated. “Most of the homes were built in the 1950s, and a lot of developers have come in and redone them over the years,” says Daniels. “You get really good value. It’s less expensive than Arlington but right next door.” The neighborhood is full of hilly terrain and tree-lined streets. Houses often have spacious yards with plenty of room between neighbors. Sidewalks line the streets, offering walkability. In addition to the ranch-style homes, there are a few streets with newer brick houses with large built-in garages.
You can find a three-bedroom house in the neighborhood for anywhere from $230,000 to $305,000, but most are listed for around $250,000. Four and five-bedroom houses are rare in this area, but the ones that are here generally sell for around $300,000.
Students in Brentwood-Oak Hills will likely be part of the Fort Worth Independent School District and might attend Eastern Hills Elementary School, Meadowbrook Middle School and Eastern Hills High School. Eastern Hills High serves approximately 1,200 students and has undergone significant renovations in recent years to add a new synthetic turf football field, a new library and a new counseling center. The school offers programs of choice in cybersecurity and public service. The public service program focuses on law enforcement, legal service and EMT training.
Residents can relax or play at the nearby Sunset Hills Park. This public green space has a backstop that can be used for baseball or softball games, a playground and picnic facilities. Eastern Hills Park is just a short drive away and features a secluded wooded area with several benches, ideal for relaxing and enjoying the warm weather.
There are a few restaurants in the neighborhood on Brentwood Stair Road, including a Whataburger. Just north of Interstate 30, you’ll find several more dining options, such as Italy Pasta Pizza. This popular Italian restaurant is famous for its classic dinner entrees like lasagna and strombolis in a cozy atmosphere with leather booths. You can stop in the Albertsons next door when you need to stock up on groceries.
For more excitement, you can drive just a few minutes east on I-30 and experience all the fun in Arlington. Experience thrilling roller coasters at Six Flags or cool off at Hurricane Harbor. Sports fans can take in all the action of Dallas Cowboys Games at AT&T Stadium or root for the Rangers at Globe Life Field. No matter your interest, the quick journey to Arlington will provide you with an entertaining trip. And with Loop 820 nearby as well. You will have an easy start to any commute around the Metroplex.
