The Golf Course at Fossil Creek is the crown jewel
The Golf Club at Fossil Creek is the crown jewel of the neighborhood. Arnold Palmer designed the public, 18-hole championship course, which stretches across the community's northern edge and features a 24-station driving range, clubhouse and indoor teaching facility. After a round or two, beginner and experienced golfers can dine at The Ivy Bar & Patio, The Boat House or Arnie’s Retreat, a lounge that pays homage to Palmer and offers a big screen, cocktails and beer. The neighboring community of Haltom City also has several recreational options. Spanning 95 acres, Buffalo Ridge Park is Haltom City’s largest park, with 3 miles of trails, ballfields and several picnic areas. The 20-acre White Branch Park is connected to Buffalo Ridge, and its towering canopy of trees provides a respite from the Texas heat. The park also has two playgrounds, a splash park and a trail connecting north to Arcadia Trail Park all the way to the city of Watauga. Residents can easily reach Lake Worth and Marion Samson Park along its shore, which sits 10 miles west of the neighborhood.Starter homes for under $200,000 up to $1 million golf course estates
Streets are filled with a mix of brick bungalows, ranch-style homes, two-story traditional brick homes, modern farmhouses and contemporaries. Most houses were built in the early 2000s and range from $160,000 for a 1,500-square-foot, three-bedroom home, to over $1 million for a six-bedroom, 7,900-square-foot estate in a gated community. “The area doesn’t have a ton of turnover, and the houses play a trick on you,” says Alders. “On the outside, they look so much smaller, but when you walk inside, they are actually spacious.” Houses along the Golf Club at Fossil Creek and in the gated subdivision Stoneglen at Fossil Creek are some of the higher-priced ones, with homeowners’ association fees up to $125 a month. Some of the more affordable homes in the neighborhood are in the Melody Hills Addition subdivision in the southern portion of the community. Most homes have multi-car garages and spacious driveways for boats or other aquatic toys. Residents also enjoy large lots stretching over 9,000 square feet, up to nearly a half-acre. Fenced-in backyards allow owners to create their own oasis, sometimes including pools. All residents have access to the Blue Line Walking Trail, which connects the neighborhood and the golf course.Convenient to a variety of shopping and dining
The closest dining options surround the golf course, off Interstate 35W and Western Center Boulevard. There's chicken and waffles or breakfast tacos at Seven Mile Café, a lively lunch of fajitas, margaritas and mariachi music at Los Molcajetes, or a hearty dinner at the Western-themed Saltgrass Steak House. Residents can grab groceries at Albertson’s and essentials at CVS in Fossil Creek Plaza off Western Center Boulevard. For more shopping, Alliance Town Center is 4 miles north of Melody Hills. The mixed-use mall has a variety of big-box retailers, boutiques, spas and medical services from four local hospitals. More entertainment, diverse dining and eclectic shops await in downtown Fort Worth, 8 miles south.Excellent extracurriculars at Melody Hills' schools

Local students attend Cesar Chavez Primary, Meacham Middle and Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School, all within the neighboring Diamond Hill-Jarvis community. Cesar Chavez, which has a volleyball club, earned a C grade on Niche, and Meacham holds a C-minus. Earning a C-plus on Niche, extracurricular activities at Diamond-Hill Jarvis High include the soccer and basketball teams, and a drama club. From golf club events to downtown celebrations
Beyond golf, the community gathers at the Golf Club at Fossil Creek for a variety of events. The course hosts live music at The Ivy Bar & Patio, weekly happy hours and holiday celebrations. Downtown Fort Worth is also a hot spot for festivals. Sundance Square regularly sponsors free live music in the summers, the Fort Worth Arts Festival is an annual traditional in April, downtown puts on a Tattoo Arts festival in June and the city throws a large Fourth of July celebration every year along the Trinity River at Panther Island Pavilion.Nine miles from downtown Fort Worth
Melody Hills is close to two major Fort Worth roadways, Interstates 820 and 35W. A loop of Interstate 20, I-820 is known as the Jim Wright Freeway and runs 35 miles around the city and suburbs, while I-35W is a north-south corridor that runs through downtown Fort Worth. Downtown is 9 miles away and Fort Worth Meacham International Airport is 6 miles from Melody Hills. Public buses via Trinity Metro run up and down North Beech Street and Western Center Boulevard.
