Mira Vista
A prestigious country club, 700-acre parks and Benbrook Lake
Mira Vista Country Club is the neighborhood's gem, serving the community for more than 35 years. Members can enjoy an 18-hole golf course, six tennis courts, three pickleball courts, fitness centers and a pool. The private club also has several restaurants and hosts summer camps and social activities throughout the year. “It’s a great place to go, and we have met so many friends through the country club,” says Moore. The country club is member-owned, offering several tiered memberships, including a full membership with access to all amenities, a social one and a membership for non-residents. Pecan Valley Park is another popular neighborhood spot, stretching nearly 700 acres, with two public golf courses. The park has forested walking and biking trails, fishing spots along Benbrook Lake, picnic shelters, and a pollinator garden. It’s also home to the Art Cowsen Trailhead, which connects to the Trinity Trail System, covering 100 miles across Fort Worth. Along with the Clear Fork Trinity River, the trail runs north into the 127-acre Oakmont Park, which features forested paved paths, picnic areas, a playground and natural areas. Benbrook Lake borders Mira Visa’s southwestern edge and is surrounded by several parks and marinas. It’s a popular boating spot and place to catch bass and catfish. North Holiday Park borders the lake’s northwestern side, and locals love it for swimming, camping, hiking, horseback riding and boating. Longhorn Park is the closest lakefront park for Mira Vista residents. It has boat launches, acres of picnic space and fishing spots. An eclectic housing landscape, from English Tudors to Mediterranean mansions and custom estates
The landscape of Mira Vista speaks to its name, with rolling hills, towering oaks, a lake and the fairways surrounding homes. “It’s always nice when you go through the gate and see all the pansies and flowers; it feels like you're home,” Moore says. Mira Vista is known for its architectural diversity and grand designs. The guard-gated neighborhood is filled with stately English Tudors, Frank Lloyd Wright-style Prairie homes, English manors and Colonials. There are also estates inspired by French chateaus, Spanish and Mediterranean villas and custom contemporary houses. “You have two types of houses here; you have your garden homes that are under 3,500 square feet and then larger homes that rest on half an acre,” says Moore. Most were built in the mid-1990s, ranging from the low-$400,000s for a 2,500-square-foot three-bedroom to over $2 million for an 8,500-square-foot five- or six-bedroom estate. The median sale price for Mira Vista is $850,000. Lot sizes are large, averaging a quarter acre, but those in the millions can span up to nearly 2 acres. Some homes also have pools, pergolas and covered patios. Million-dollar homes back up to the golf course and have amenities like wine cellars, private gates, sports courts and guest suites. Most properties have multi-car garages, large, paved or brick-lined driveways and well-kept lawns. The Mira Vista Homeowners Association maintains the beautification of the community and collects quarterly fees. Community amenities include a playground, lakes, paved walking trails and sports courts.Country club dining and other amenities within a few miles
Mira Vista Country Club offers three restaurants for its members, including The Sunset Grill, an upscale restaurant offering cocktails, wine, pasta and steaks. Horizon Lounge and Patio is a more casual spot that overlooks the 18th hole at the country club with a similar menu to The Sunset Grill. The Pointe offers members a quick meal of sandwiches, snacks and pub fare. Most shopping and dining options outside the club are clustered around Bryant Irvin Road and Chisholm Trail Parkway. Albertson’s, CVS, Southside Bank gas stations and Starbucks are all off Bryant Irvin Road. Mama’s Pizza is a popular spot for thin-crust brick oven pizzas. City View Towne Crossing is less than 3 miles north and offers Costco, Target, Petco, Big Lots and other retailers and dining options like Hawaiian Bros Island Grill, known for its Huli Huli chicken and Dole soft-serve treats. Woody’s Tavern is also located here, a local favorite for pub fare and sports with projective screens, darts, pool tables and live music. Hulen Mall is adjacent to this shopping center on the other side of Chisholm Trail Parkway, providing department stores, boutiques and open-air restaurants. Two highly rated school districts
The area is divided into two districts: the B-rated Fort Worth Independent School District and Crowley Independent School District, which scores a B-minus on Niche. Both are major employers in the area. Students attend one or the other depending on where they live in the neighborhood. Those zoned for Fort Worth ISD can attend the B-rated Ridglea Hills Elementary, which offers a run club, followed by Monnig Middle, which has a C rating. Kids can finish their primary education at Arlington Heights High, which earns a B and offers a journalism club and football and volleyball teams. Students zoned for the Crowley ISD can attend Oakmont Elementary, which offers summer learning programs and scores a B-minus on Niche, followed by Summer Creek Middle, which has a C rating. Kids go on to the B-rated North Crowley High School, which has a Future Farmers of America club and basketball and swimming teams. Several private education options are also available, including Forth Worth Academy, which, according to Niche, ranks the top private school in the county.Celebrations at the country club
Mira Vista Country Club has a variety of events for members, including golf tournaments, family nights, an annual Halloween party, adult mixers, a Thanksgiving brunch and other holiday activities. The club’s Horizon Lounge and Patio also features live music on Fridays.Eleven miles from Downtown Fort Worth
Highways surround Mira Vista on three sides. Interstate 20 runs along its northern edge, and Chisholm Trail Parkway, a toll road, makes up its eastern edge. Highway 377 is less than 5 miles west, and all these routes provide access to the rest of the area. “They built a new toll road, and we can be in Downtown Fort Worth in under 15 minutes,” says Moore. Downtown Fort Worth is 11 miles away, Fort Worth Meacham International Airport is 15 miles away and Dallas is a 43-mile drive. Trinity Metro provides public transportation for the area, and the closest bus stop is along Bryant Irvin Road and Oakmont Boulevard, less than 1 mile north or a 6-minute bike ride. Kindred Hospital Tarrant County – Fort Worth Southwest and Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth are the closest medical facilities, both major employers and less than 2 miles away.
