Minutes away from major attractions

Homebuyers who want to settle down yet still be close enough to enjoy thriving areas like Downtown Fort Worth often choose a neighborhood like Ryanwood for its quiet community and highway access. “It’s an older neighborhood of homes built in the 50s, 60s and 70s, but it’s super convenient to hop on I-30 and go downtown,” says Sylvia Truehitt with Rendon Realty, a veteran Realtor in the Dallas-Fort Worth area since 2000. “It’s also just 25 miles from Dallas going the other way.” In Ryanwood, residents can have more of a suburban lifestyle, with concerts, sporting events and other attractions a short drive away.

Traditional homes and community

Most homes in Ryanwood are traditional brick ranch-style houses that list for between $175,000 and $325,0000. Many include attached garages, fenced-in backyards and simple landscaping out front, with mature trees, neatly trimmed lawns and no sidewalks. “It feels a bit like the suburbs, but there’s nothing cookie-cutter about these homes,” Truehitt says. With FHA loans and down payment assistance available, first-time homebuyers are often drawn to the neighborhood, sometimes getting good deals on properties needing renovation. Truehitt also says that most of the sales she’s handled in the neighborhood were with buyers who grew up in Ryanwood and were returning to live close to their families, a testament to how family-friendly and multi-generational the area is.
