Developing area with city views and trails
With pristine views of the Trinity River and sunsets behind the Fort Worth skyline, Scenic Bluff lives up to its name. This growing suburb is just 2 miles from downtown and hugs Interstate 35 West, giving residents an easy commute whether it be for work or fun. While this proximity to local attractions in Fort Worth is a selling point, Scenic Bluff also offers expansive green space at Riverside Park and local eateries along the popular Race Street. “There’s a ton of houses that are new construction and there’s new development here,” says Scott Sammons, a native Fort Worthian and Broker at Scott Sammons Real Estate with 16 years of experience selling in the area. “The trajectory of Scenic Bluff is definitely up-and-coming because of all the development, including new shops and restaurants.”

Modern ranch homes and older bungalows
Houses in Scenic Bluff are a mix of old and new. Most of the older homes are traditional-style bungalows with gabled roofs, two bedrooms and two bathrooms – many in need of updates – typically selling in the $125,000 to $225,000 range. "For the newer properties, modern ranch-style homes are common,” Sammon says. Other styles include recently built two-story Farmhouse Revivals with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, selling anywhere from $250,000 to $600,000. “I don’t see a lot of turnover or people moving out of the neighborhood,” Sammons says. “I see a lot of people shifting from an old house to a new house within the same neighborhood.” Sidewalks along these residential streets make it easy to walk to nearby shops and restaurants or take an evening stroll.

Local shops and eateries on Race Street
Proof of the development happening in Scenic Bluff can be found along Race Street, where murals and bright-colored facades make local boutiques and restaurants pop. Race Street Coffee is a popular spot to grab a morning pick-me-up, and they make an effort to bring people together in their small space. “They don’t have any internet access in there. They actually discourage people from coming in and just plugging into their laptops,” Sammons says. “They really encourage people to come in, hang out, talk and be intentional with their relationships.” Also on Race Street is Calisience, a restaurant that puts a modern twist on staples like Tacos Dorado and Ramen. Thanks to Chef Jacqueline Anaya, this establishment won the Tastemaker Awards’ Best New Restaurant in 2023. Nearby, Mamma Mia is the go-to spot for the Italian classics, located in a spacious historic brick building. For meals at home, a few neighborhood markets are peppered throughout Scenic Bluff, and Food City is just 2 miles north of town.
