Gated subdivisions close to Frisco entertainment hubs
Located about 6 miles from downtown Frisco is Stonebriar, a community with gated and guarded subdivisions near the intersection of two major toll roads. The neighborhood stands out for its custom homes, higher-end prices and proximity to many of Frisco's amenities. "Stonebriar is an older community, but luxurious," says Kelley Liu, a managing partner and broker associate at ERA Empower who lived in Frisco for over 15 years. "All the homes there are built really well, and some of them will have beautiful golf course views of the country club." Stonebriar sits near prominent Frisco entertainment and dining areas, like The Star and Stonebriar Mall, and access to major roadways that lead to Frisco's prominent and expanding business and commercial districts.

They are often larger custom builds with brick exteriors in gated and guarded communities. "It's an older community, and a lot of people choose to live there for the security it offers," says Brenda Mancil, a real estate agent with RE/Max Premier Properties who has sold in the area for several years. Gated communities in Stonebriar come with different amenities, including parks, playgrounds, greenbelts and events for HOA residents. A-frame roofs and classic architectural designs are common, along with Mediterranean-style houses. Prices typically range from $700,000 to one million dollars for custom homes with a garage and three bedrooms. Larger estates with more amenities and acreage will cost several million dollars. HOA fees are about $300 per month.

Sports bars and restaurants at The Star
Residents of Stonebriar are near many of Frisco's most popular retail and restaurant locations. The Star is a central hub of restaurants centered around the Dallas Cowboys and Ford Center, just north of the neighborhood. Among the popular eateries in the area is Dee Lincoln Prime, a modern steakhouse that also receives high marks for its sushi bar and tequila selection. The Star is also filled with sports bars and American food eateries, like Dee's Table and Sidecar Social. "I always tell my clients if you're new here, you have to try the steak, the TexMex and the Texas barbeque; it's mandatory," Liu says.
South of Highway 121 and Sam Rayburn Tollway is Legacy West, an outdoor shopping street lined with designer stores, a gourmet food hall and chic restaurants. "My friend and I like to go there every six or so months and pretend we're rich," Mancil says. "We walk into all the designer stores, have lunch and just hang out while window shopping." Stonebriar Centre Shopping Center is a standout in Frisco. It features dozens of big-name retailers, restaurants, a Ferris wheel, and several play areas for children. Kroger and Market Street are nearby grocery stores.
Several sports facilities and the country club
Stonebriar's recreation options start with the Stonebriar Country Club, a members-only club featuring two golf courses, a fitness center and several event and dining options. Outside of golf at the country club, sports are a prominent part of life in Frisco. "We're a really big sports city; any sport kids want to participate in, there is a club or league that has something, and we don't have to drive that far for it," Liu says. Frisco earns the nickname SportsCity USA and is home to more than a dozen sports organizations. Stonebriar is within 10 miles of several notable sports facilities, including Toyota Stadium, Ford Center and Turner Soccer Complex. Outside of sports, Camey Spur Park is a city park with a playground, pavilion and walking paths next to green trees and natural surroundings. Children appreciate the playground equipment's design, featuring carvings of different animals and fossils, like snakes, squirrels and raccoons. Thrill-seekers head to Stonebriar Mall and enjoy the iFly Indoor Skydiving facility.
