The neighborhood is home to the Clarence R. Kelly Community Center, which has been part of the community since 1977. A new, 3,800-square-foot building was dedicated in 2022. Residents have access to rooms for meetings, games and classes as well as upgraded outdoor amenities that include an event lawn, community garden and lighted basketball court. Duval Park is a neighborhood green space. The city recently announced renovations plans that include a new walking trail and playground. The Martin Luther King Jr. Multipurpose Center is the anchor of a sprawling sports and recreation complex just minutes from the neighborhood. Several city high schools, including Gainesville High, play football, soccer and lacrosse there at Citizens Field.University hospital, regional airport are easily accessible
Regional Transit System buses run regularly along streets throughout the neighborhood. They provide convenient access to local points of interest, including UF Health Shands Hospital on the University of Florida campus and Gainesville Regional Airport. Students typically attend Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Elementary School, C-rated by Niche, B-rated Howard W. Bishop Middle School and A-rated Gainesville High School. Gainesville High offers the Cambridge International course of study and features magnet programs in teaching and health. The Alachua County School District offers an open enrollment program that allows qualified students to attend schools outside of their geographic zones.
