Developers built most of the neighborhood before 2000 and single-family houses typically feature characteristics of Colonial-revival and ranch-style designs, with the occasional bungalow and contemporary home in the mix. The Rock Creek Greenway connects residents to four different parks
The neighborhood sits less than a mile north of the Rock Creek Greenway, a shaded pathway connecting visitors to four parks along its path from downtown Gainesville to Lake Lanier. The path starts at Rock Creek Park, which features a 300-seat outdoor amphitheater, a small pond and a Vietnam War memorial. Walking further along the path leads to Ivey Terrace Park, built in 1936 and recently renovated with a new bridge and picnic areas around historic buildings and structures. The greenway is also part of a one-in-thirteen public art series called the Solar System Walk, a scale model of our solar system, accompanied by fun astronomy facts on statues of various planets. From there, the greenway blends into Wilshire Trails Park. Playgrounds and a bilingual storybook trail provide plenty for kids to enjoy. Longwood Park marks the end of the greenway, providing public boat launches for residents to have fun on Lake Lanier's waters.
