Northeast Garland is conveniently located at the intersection of President George Bush Turnpike and State Highway 78 for easy access across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Downtown Dallas is around 20 miles away, while DFW International Airport is a little over 30 miles. Northeast Garland is adjacent to Downtown Garland, and residents have access to the events the city puts on. “It’s not necessarily where a lot of people will hang out, but people do go down there for some of the cool art festivals, and they do some music stuff down there,” says Shannon. One such event is the annual Dia de los Muertos festival held at the Garland Arts Center, which features live performances and street vendors.
