Access to both Round Rock and Georgetown
A straight shot up Interstate 35 from Austin, Maple Creek provides both older and newer subdivisions in a fast-growing area. With access to both Georgetown and Round Rock, the neighborhood has plenty to do within a 15-minute drive both to the north and to the south. “It really is about as far south in Georgetown as you can go,” says Tanya Kerr, Realtor and team lead of the T. Kerr Property Group of Keller Williams Lone Star. “It’s right on the border of Round Rock and Georgetown.”

New homes and more established subdivisions
Past the car dealerships and non-denominational church along the interstate, Maple Creek’s patchwork of brand-new and relatively established subdivisions gives homebuyers options in the neighborhood. “There are some newer developments like Patterson Ranch, but west of that you have some communities that are closer to five years old,” Kerr says. One of the older developments in the area, Teravista, tends to make up more of the high end of the market, with its Craftsman-styled homes selling between $400,000 and $900,000. Meanwhile, smaller neo-eclectic brick builds often go between $300,000 and $600,000.

Round Rock Premium Outlets and Georgetown town square
With its easy access to the interstate, Maple Creek has access to both the shops of Round Rock to its south and the charming town square of Georgetown to its north. Just a couple miles from the neighborhood, the Round Rock Premium Outlets offers brands such as Calvin Klein, Adidas and Levi’s. The closest grocer, an H-E-B, sits just across the street. Georgetown, on the other hand, is more of a destination for a night out. “People will definitely go into the Georgetown town square for a date night,” says Paul Cummings, Realtor at the Cummings Team of Keller Williams. “It’s got some cool restaurants down there.” Locals frequent eateries like the Monument Cafe, which features fresh ingredients in a classic diner interior, and Roots, for live music and traditional American cuisine.

Commutes toward Austin via I-35
Located south of Georgetown and bordered by Interstate 35, Maple Creek has access to one of the major routes south through the suburbs to the city of Austin. The drive down I-35, just under 30 miles to downtown, often takes longer for commuters during rush hour thanks to the explosive growth of Austin’s northern suburbs and exurbs. Many of the area’s major tech employers, including Apple, Amazon and Indeed, have moved north of the city, helping to cut down on travel time for those driving in from Maple Creek.
Events in Georgetown
Some of the developments within Maple Creek offer community events. Teravista’s homeowners association, for example, puts on monthly gatherings and holiday celebrations, like outdoor concerts and Easter egg hunts. The city of Georgetown also organizes popular events, including the annual Red Poppy Festival each spring.
