Resort-like environment with neighborly charm and Denver access
Tucked within the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, the Beverly Heights neighborhood maintains its mountain–resort atmosphere without the remoteness that usually comes with such a location. Residents of the Golden, Colorado neighborhood are within 20 miles of Boulder and 15 from Denver, making it popular with commuters. However, this takes a backseat to the real highlight of the neighborhood which is just about everything else, according to Rebecca Strobel – a real estate agent with RE/MAX Professionals and longtime resident of the area. “It’s a real neighborhood, not just a place that’s conveniently close to Denver,” says Strobel. “You have kids playing out in the street in front of their house while the parents watch from the front porch, adults can join book clubs – or wine clubs – and it really just nails that classic suburban vibe.”
Established homes with modern renovations sit alongside custom mountaintop estates
Many of the homes in the neighborhood date back to the 1940s through the 1970s. “There’s a popular saying in town – ‘Don’t Boulder my Golden’ – and that’s really about how so many historic buildings and homes in Boulder were torn down and replaced,” says Strobel. “Of course, some things have to be updated and modernized, and the neighborhood is becoming more modern, but it still maintains that old-school, neighborly feel.” Styles include ranch and traditional, with many homes featuring more modern renovations. These typically range from $1 million to $1.25 million, while custom homes – usually comprised of exposed brick or masonry and sometimes even featuring elements of mid-century modern – start at $1.3 million and reach as high as $1.7 million. Lot sizes are typically larger than what can be found in the more urban areas nearby, with mature trees and mountain views.

Beverly Heights Park provides a peaceful gathering spot
Beverly Heights Park features trails and tracks for walkers and cyclists, open space, and views of the surrounding natural beauty. “It’s a great spot to break out the hammock and nap or study,” says Strobel. “It’s a great spot for dogs, too – my husband and I have been walking our dogs there since 2004.” Nearby, locals flock to the Front Range foothills of the Rocky Mountains, which allow for relaxation and recreation in equal measure. In Downtown Golden, Parfet Park is the oldest park in the city and features regular “Movies & Music in the Park” during summer nights. The Chimney Gulch Trail begins in the neighborhood.
