Condo and mobile-home community at the base of the Rockies

Around 13 miles west of Denver, and just off U.S. Route 6, Golden Ridge is a community with condos and mobile homes near highly ranked schools and an abundance of Rocky Mountain trails. “It’s really easy to get to Denver from here, but you can just as easily go up the highway to go skiing or hiking in the mountains” explains LaDawn Sperling, an associate broker with Coldwell Baker Realty. Although located near the southern limits of Golden, Golden Ridge remains near many of the local businesses the historic mining town is known for. “The charm of the area stems from it being very close to the mountains and all the little shops that create the small-town feel,” Sperling says.

Condos and mobile homes in Golden Ridge

The Golden Ridge Condominium Association’s (GRCA) low-rise buildings all center around a shared greenspace marked with trees and walking paths. Residents enjoy reserved parking spaces, a fitness center with a sauna, and a clubhouse. Condo units generally range from 600 to 1,100 square feet and come in one- to three-bedroom layouts. Prices range from $230,000 to $370,000, with larger units fetching higher prices.

The Golden Terrace mobile home community sits directly beside GRCA, its single- and double-wides laid out on a tree-shaded grid. Each mobile home features a strip of yard space and a carport. Single-wides with two bedrooms range from $25,000 to $65,000, depending on their state of renovation. Double-wides have two- and three-bedroom floorplans and range from $85,000 to $135,000.

Hiking in the Rockies and climbing at Movement Golden

At the base of Lookout Mountain, Golden Ridge is a mere mile away from hiking trails and ponderosa forests. “You can walk out of your front door and get right on a trail in the mountains,” Sperling says. Apex Park is a vast, 780-acre open space just west of the neighborhood. The park’s 10 miles of trails were once roads for the area’s gold mines, and century-old wagon toll signs still stand here today. Now, hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders are all welcome to travel through the park’s pine groves and mountain vistas.

Movement Golden rock-climbing gym also sits in Golden Ridge, its parking lot nearly always full of cars. On top of featuring 233 rock-climbing routes, Movement Golden offers yoga classes and a cross-fit gym.
