A large community of seven distinct subdivisions

Named for the golf club it was built around, Pine Tree is a large neighborhood made up of seven distinct gated and private communities, five of which cater to folks aged 55 and older. While each subdivision has its own unique look, they all have one thing in common: easy access to resort-style amenities. Along with the option of applying for membership at the world-class Pine Tree Golf Club, residents can also enjoy clubhouses and HOA-sponsored events in their respective communities. The neighborhood's location, about 8 miles from both the popular Ocean Ridge Beach and downtown Delray Beach, is also a major draw to the area.

Easy access to Pine Tree Golf Club

The neighborhood is centered around the Pine Tree Golf Club, a prestigious private course founded in 1961 and designed by renowned golf course architect Dick Wilson. It's often considered one of Wilson's best courses because of its flat yet heavily bunkered landscape and exceptionally long fairways. It's also consistently ranked in the top 20 best courses in Florida, an impressive ranking given that there are more than 1,300 courses throughout the state. Along with its meticulously maintained 18-hole layout, members also have access to the plantation-style clubhouse, where there is a pro shop, grill room and lounge. The club is independent of the surrounding community, meaning there is no mandatory buy-in or automatic membership granted upon purchasing a home here. For those interested in non-golf-related recreation, the 64-acre Caloosa Park is just 4 miles away. It's one of the area's most popular parks, with amenities for people of all ages, including a fishing pier off a lake in the center of the grounds, a playground, a multipurpose field, and courts for tennis and pickleball. "Pickleball and soccer are going on every weekend," Realtor Robert Stidham with Century 21 Tenace Realty says. "Pickleball is every day, really," he says. DeVos-Blum Family YMCA of Boynton Beach is another popular option for recreation, featuring a fitness center, two heated indoor pools, a sauna and more.

Luxury homes, 55-plus villas

There is a wealth of housing options among Pine Tree's seven subdivisions, many of which are 55-plus communities. The non-age-restricted communities here are the Palladium and the Pine Tree Country Club Estates, the latter of which is built on the grounds of the Pine Tree golf course. Homes in both communities are mostly Spanish-Colonial Revival mansions with arched entryways and red clay tile roofs and Mediterranean-style estates with stucco facades. Of the two non-age-restricted communities here, the Palladium is more affordable, with homes ranging from $500,000 to $640,000. In the Pine Tree Country Club Estates, on the other hand, homes boast premium price tags because of their size and scenic location. Options start around $970,000 and can quickly surpass $2.75 million. The other five communities are age-restricted, each with a unique look. The Limetree Condominium community is known for its white stone villas, while the Pine Tree Village mostly has ranch-style homes. In Fairmont Place, craftsman bungalows and Mediterranean-inspired homes sit snuggly along tree-lined streets. And in Brighton Lakes and Greentree Villas, attached single-family homes and one-story duplexes win the day. Homes in these communities are often one to three-bedroom options and sell for between $160,000 to $605,000.
