Dalworth Park is conveniently located in the middle of DFW
Just off Interstate 30, about halfway between Dallas and Fort Worth, Grand Prairie’s Dalworth Park is a charming residential community alongside parks and the city’s downtown. “There are a lot of big pluses for this area,” says Vivian Vance, Broker Associate at Century 21 Judge Fite Company. “It’s an excellent location with ease of drive time to anywhere in the metroplex. It’s off President George Bush Tollway, which runs right through the middle of the neighborhood, and you can get to I-30 from the Tollway and get to downtown Dallas or downtown Fort Worth in less than 20 minutes. It’s under 15 minutes to the DFW Airport, and that’s a big deal for people.”
Bungalows, ranch-style and new traditional homes
“Dalworth Park is in the charming historic area of Grand Prairie,” Vance says. “It has a unique blend of historic homes and new builds. It’s so well sought that people have torn down and done new builds.” The neighborhood has a mix of single-family homes and apartments, with bungalows, ranch-style and new traditional homes being most prevalent. Homes here have an average size of about 1,400 square feet, significantly smaller than the national average of about 1,900 square feet. Recent sales prices for single-family homes generally range from about $150,000 to $300,000. Buyers looking to build can typically find land in this neighborhood, with lots often listing for $100,000 to $150,000.
Grand Prairie Independent School District
Students in Dalworth Park can attend schools in Grand Prairie Independent School District, which has an overall B grade on Niche and ranks on the site in Dallas County’s top 10 school districts. They can start at the C-plus-rated Morton Elementary School before choosing to attend the C-plus-rated Adams Middle School, the A-rated Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy or the A-rated Grand Prairie Collegiate Institute. The Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy enrolls sixth through twelfth-grade students and ranks on Niche as the seventh best high school for the arts in Texas, and the Grand Prairie Collegiate Institute also enrolls sixth through twelfth grades and ranks on Niche as the fourth best charter middle school in the DFW area. High school students can attend the C-plus-rated Grand Prairie High School or the C-rated Crosswinds Accelerated High School. In this alternative education program, students can choose between morning, afternoon and evening classes to customize their schedule and accelerate their learning.
Neighborhood parks, the Dalworth Recreation Center and EpicCentral
A mile north, Hill Street Park is a small neighborhood green space with a playground, picnic pavilion and grassy sports field. A mile south, Nance-James Park also has a playground and picnic pavilion as well as a basketball court. A few blocks away from Nance-James, the Dalworth Recreation Center offers indoor fitness opportunities, including classes, a weight room and summer camps and after-school programs for kids. Shoot Smart, an indoor gun and archery range in the neighborhood, offers classes and memberships, providing another way for residents to unwind. EpicCentral is an entertainment development 4 miles south with restaurants, bars, amusement parks and a waterpark. “There’s all kinds of really cool stuff there,” Vance says. “There’s a park there that is designed so that all children, regardless of ability, can use and enjoy it. The swings and everything are accommodating to all children. That’s a big, big deal - they got state and federal funding for that.”
Local restaurants and a farmers market
Dalworth Park has an Albertsons on the neighborhood’s east end, providing residents with convenient grocery access. The neighborhood has a few restaurants, including Theo’s Grill & Bar, Monterey’s Little Mexico and Mariscos La Reyna. Theo’s Grill & Bar is a family-owned restaurant with live music, American fare and Dallas sports on TV. Monterey’s Little Mexico is a local Tex-Mex chain serving hearty plates of food in a colorful dining room. Mariscos La Reyna is a family-owned Mexican restaurant serving margaritas and a menu focused on seafood dishes. “Dalworth Park is in walking distance to the award-winning Grand Prairie Farmers Market plaza, which is in the bustling downtown area,” Vance says. Open every Saturday from April through December, the Grand Prairie Farmers Market features fresh produce, baked goods and specialty groceries from local vendors.
Just a few miles from Six Flags and Rangers and Cowboys games
Dalworth Park’s location just east of Arlington makes it easy to access the city’s many attractions. Residents here live 3 miles away from rollercoaster rides at Six Flags and 4 miles from Texas Rangers games at Globe Life Field and Dallas Cowboys games at AT&T Stadium.
Easy access to Interstate 30 and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport
President George Bush Turnpike cuts through Dalworth Park and connects it to Interstate 30, 2 miles north, which provides access to the rest of the metroplex. Dalworth Park is well situated in the middle of DFW, making the location convenient for those looking to access both Dallas and Fort Worth. Residents can take I-30 16 miles east to Dallas, 5 miles west to Arlington or 19 miles west to Fort Worth. Via Grand Prairie is an on-demand shared ride service that residents can use to get around town. The nearest medical center is Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital, 6 miles west.
