A Green Bay suburb along parks and the interstate

Baird Creek is an eastern suburb of Green Bay located along Interstate 43 and the creek that shares its name. Tree-lined streets, an elementary school within walking distance, and nearby parks provide access to nature and sports facilities, giving the neighborhood a familiar suburban feel. Its location on the eastern side of Green Bay distances Baird Creek away from the activity of downtown Green Bay and the Titletown District, where the Packers stadium is. However, the direct access to I-43 connects residents with the city’s eastern shopping centers and restaurants.

Baird Creek's nearby soccer complexes and sledding hills

Baird Creek is centrally located to several major Green Bay parks. Within the neighborhood, Henry Baird Park's tennis courts are within walking distance of homes. To the east along Country Road is The Arnie Wolff Sports Complex, named in honor of a community firefighter who died in service and a result of the collaborative efforts of local recreational soccer clubs, the Green Bay Strikers and Green Bay Kickers. The facility is a hive of soccer activity with six soccer fields that serve the local community. On the other side of I-43 is Triangle Sports Area. The park offers hiking, mountain biking and disc golf in warmer months, but the area really comes to life in the winter. The hilly terrain gets turned into skiing, snowboarding and tubing hills, with rope pulleys and magic carpets to pull people up the hill. The park also has access to the Baird Creek Greenway, a collection of trails running along the creek used for mountain biking, trail running and cross-country skiing.

Kite flying at Nicolet Airport and Packers games

While Baird Creek is 12.5 miles from Lambeau Field and on the opposite side of the city, Realtor Becky Buckland with Coldwell Banker assures that people on Green Bay’s eastern side also show up for Packers games just as much as those closer to Titletown. Residents will also show their team pride with Packers flags in their front yards and splashes of green and gold all around. Over at Nicolet Airport to the east, Kite Fest is a 10-year Green Bay tradition every end of June, where the community comes together on the airfield to launch kites and play games. The event usually has shuttles bringing people to and from the airport from a designated meeting point. Across Green Bay, the Farmers’ Market on Broadway brings local produce and live music to western Green Bay’s Broadway District every Wednesday afternoon in the warmer months.
