Olde Norwood
Olde Norwood's post World War II Cape Cods
Most of the homes in Olde Norwood are older Cape Cods, with the occasional ranch and bungalow thrown in for some diversity. “The majority of those homes were built post World War II—the 1940s into the 1950s with a sprinkling of the 60s here and there,” says Realtor Alex Young with Keller Williams Realty. “Most of them have yards where you can have a cute little backyard.” Sidewalks line both sides of the street, so residents can walk to Lambeau from their homes, and trees create a canopy over the neighborhood. “You’ll see people walking their dogs and walking with their kids,” Young says. Homes here typically sell between $150,000 and $250,000. This price range allows homeowners to live close to Lambeau for a more affordable price than neighborhoods like Lombardi.Agriculture program for Olde Norwood students
Students can attend Beaumont Elementary School, which Niche lists it as the second most diverse public elementary school in Wisconsin. Niche gives both it and Lombardi Middle School C-plus rankings. Students at Southwest High School can enroll in the urban agriculture program to learn more about the industry’s science and technology. Niche grants it a B.Getting around Olde Norwood via Lombardi and Ashland Avenues
Olde Norwood sits alongside two major thoroughfares in Green Bay—Lombardi and Ashland Avenues. Lombardi is lined with restaurants by the stadium while Ashland connects residents with the nearby grocery stores. While buses do stop along Lombardi to connect to the stadium, many locals walk to Packers games instead. Downtown Green Bay is just 2 miles away. On the other side of the Fox River, HSHS Saint Vincent Hospital is over 2.5 miles from Olde Norwood. When traveling outside of Green Bay, Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport is 6.5 miles away.Tailgating before Packers games and local farmers' markets
Regardless of where people are in the city, Packers games are a big deal, but Packers pride is active in the neighborhoods around Lambeau. “You’ll see a lot of it city wide, but the closer you get to Lambeau, the closer you get to the crucible of green and gold,” Young says. “It’s not something where people are painting their houses, but everywhere you’ll see the little yard flags. You’ll see Packers garden gnomes.” Before the games, Olde Norwood residents also tailgate, celebrating with family and friends from around the city. “Tailgating usually takes place within a couple block radius around Lambeau Field,” Young says. “And we’ll do it regardless of the weather.” During the warmer months, the Farmers’ Market on Broadway draws Green Bay residents out for fresh produce, artisan goods and live music.Local pizza joints and pubs nearby Olde Norwood
Lombardi Avenue boasts several dining destinations close to the stadium for a quick bite before the game or a night out with friends and family. Sammy’s Pizza and Italian Restaurant originally opened back in 1959, using the same family recipe for their meatballs and red sauce. Stadium View Sports Bar, Grill and Banquet Hall serves standard pub food, but offers live music every evening and karaoke on Fridays. The hall is full of historical photos of the Packers, reminding people the history of their team. Along 9th Street, Mason Brothers Red Owl Store is a locally-owned grocery store located within Olde Norwood. About 2 miles away, Hy-Vee Grocery Store is another option, and Target is 2.5 miles away.Neighborhood parks and amenities near Olde Norwood
