Green Valley Country Club Estates
Country club lifestyle and recreation
At the Country Club of Green Valley, members enjoy access to a shared pool and clubhouse, where club meetings and social events are often held, like trivia and bridge. The 18-hole private golf course is a club highlight, offering tree-lined fairways and distant views of the surrounding desert mountain landscape; there’s also a driving range and year-round private instruction available. Of the 15 Green Valley Recreation centers, two of the closest are Las Campanas Center and East Center—both are about 2 miles away. At Las Campanas, locals may enjoy the fitness center, dip into the pool and play tennis or racquetball. East Center offers another pool, as well as billiards and pickleball. Both centers also regularly host classes for members, like yoga and line dancing at Las Campanas and painting and lapidary at East.Retail plazas around the interstate
Green Valley Country Club Estates is mostly residential, but neighbors can grab casual Mexican fare from Taco Giro, next to the country club’s clubhouse. Around Interstate 19, there are a handful of shopping plazas with restaurants and retail near the neighborhood. About 2 miles away at Sahuarita Palms Plaza, there are groceries at Safeway and a mix of fast-food chains and small businesses, like beauty services and medical practices. Across the street from the plaza, residents might head to Mountain View Cafe and Bakery for a morning cup of coffee or fresh pastries and lunch fare. Nearby, Manuel's Mexican Restaurant is another local favorite for authentic Mexican cuisine, including sizzling fajitas and pork tamales. After dinner, residents can catch the game with a beer at The Garage, a nearby sports bar and barbecue restaurant with a laidback, social atmosphere. For more shopping and dining, there are lots of big-box retailers, chain restaurants and department stores about 2 miles away along South Nogales Highway, including Walmart, Goodwill and Sprouts.Spanish-inspired ranchers and townhomes
All homes are part of local homeowners associations, whose annual dues of about $35 to $50 go toward community upkeep. “The Estates are big custom homes on lots with their own yards—usually no more than a quarter of an acre,” says Trina Alberta Oesterle, a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Realty who has over 14 years of experience. Built during the late 20th century, most homes here are ranch-style with Spanish-inspired features, like red clay-tiled roofs and desert-colored stucco exteriors. These two- to four-bedroom homes generally have l,500 to 2,500-square-foot layouts; typical features include attached garages and covered patios or porches. Their gravel-packed lots are dotted with low-water plantings and the occasional palm tree or Saguaro cactus peeking over the rooftops. Prices range from about $300,000 to $450,000, depending on a home’s size and features. There are also a handful of Spanish- and Pueblo-inspired townhomes in the neighborhood. These homes have two to three bedrooms and are generally smaller with 1,000- to 2,000-square-foot layouts; their prices range from $250,000 to $350,000, depending on size.
