Battlefield's ample green space includes a Revolutionary War site
Battlefield gets its name from the fact that it sits on the site of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse, fought during the American Revolution. Hundreds of acres of the battlefield were preserved, creating an expanse of trails and woodlands on the neighborhood's southern end. The battlefield connects to Country Park, which provides another couple of hundred acres for outdoor recreation and relaxation that's within 2 miles of every house in Battlefield. Residents enjoy plenty of green space close to home, while the Greensboro Urban Loop passes through the community and keeps people connected to the rest of the city.
Monuments honor Nathanael Greene and other key figures from the Battle of Guilford Courthouse.
Outside of the military park, Battlefield is a small suburban community.
