West Market Street, which runs along the community's southern edge, leads commuters west to Interstate 840. The neighborhood's central location makes getting to downtown, shopping, dining and parks simple and painless. That said, a car is a must, as there aren't any bus stops in Hamilton Hills.Townhouses and manicured yards

Just east of the neighborhood is Hamilton Lakes Park, where visitors can stroll along a small concrete pier and take in the lake's calm waters. The park has about 2 miles of walking trails to explore and a playground for the kids. "I live here. It's a very nature-forward place. There's a ton of walking trails," says Amanda Garner, the Director of Greensboro Beautiful. "Greensboro is a very pretty city, surrounded by nature."Greensboro Beautiful is a nonprofit organization that has worked in collaboration with the city on several beautification projects, including the Greensboro Arboretum. The Arboretum is only a 7-minute drive from the neighborhood, offering a peaceful day of enjoying plant collections, display gardens and trickling fountains. "Greensboro Beautiful established the garden and we maintain it with the help of community volunteers," says Garner. In addition to volunteer work, the Arboretum brings the community together through events and workshops. "Greensboro holds Art in the Arboretum every October," says Garner. "We also have experts that hold workshops, like our beekeeping workshop. There's Summer Solstice, the Candle Festival, the list goes on."
